As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I’ve said before on here that we traditionally had a white away kit and I don’t think anyone believed me. Just found this link online.
Have a scroll through and you’ll see that until the late 60s, our most common change strip was white.
I’ve never liked the yellow, even though it was the kit I grew up with. Always find yellow a weak colour for a sports team. Not masculine enough and suggestive of cowardice.
Btw, I doubt any of the mugs on AFTV would have a clue that historically we had a white kit.
I believed you and was aware of it. Nearly all the clubs that had red or blue jerseys had a white away jersey at times historically.
For me, the yellow away is reminiscent of the great 71 and 79 FA Cup wins and the 71 Double.
Also, I'll raise your yellow for cowardice with a white for surrender!
But personally, I just can't get past the fact it's the scum's colour.
DB man, you forgot the greatest ever ending to a season, ever..... May 26th 1989
Also in yellow
And totally agree, white is the colour of the Scum. One day some c.unt at the club will sign off on white top with blue trim
Edit: kudos to King Henry beating me to it, and with a piccie, must have been the shit Internet connection on this hot, Greek island

Sorry, I should have clarified that those 71 and 79 aways were the ones that started my association with yellow as our away jersey and established its supremacy in my mind.
The 89 jersey obviously just fortified it even more!
Ohh! Fer Fucks Sake... The advert has got One Member of the Mens Team and Two of the wimmin Players (I use the term 'Players' in the wimmin's case reluctantly!.

The greatest game in Arsenal's history we worn yellow. Are you sure you are a real Arsenal fan?
No your Highness, not really. How can I possibly be an Arsenal supporter if I don't like yellow kits?
I assume you're not really an Arsenal supporter either. I mean, if you like yellow kits, then surely you're a Norwich fan....that's how it works isn't it??
