ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

🚨 Breaking: Alexander Isak has told Newcastle he wants to explore a move away, as @CraigHope_DM called. Interested clubs also aware.

#LFC told Newcastle prior to signing Hugo Ekitike they were prepared to pay a British transfer record fee. Another attacker is still possible for Liverpool if Luis Diaz is sold, and with Darwin Nunez expected to leave. Another approached is not ruled out.

Hilal have told Newcastle they are ready to make a significant offer despite no engagement yet on player side. Isak has not shown encouragement to Saudi so far.

Isak wants to assess options rather than committing now to a new Newcastle contract. He remains well contracted until 2028 and well-compensated.🇸🇪

Isn’t that typical! We have been lusting after Isak for a couple of seasons and haven’t brought a CF, then the same day we stump up the cash to buy Gyökeres, Isak asks for a transfer. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I do have my doubts over Isak’s ability to play 3 matches a week, but you couldn’t make this shizzle up.

Head chopper owned Head Choppers selling a player to another Head Chopper team at a no doubt grossly inflated price? I don't believe it and can't see any way this could even remotely be an attempt to circumvent the Profit and Sustainability Rules. I don't see any way that he'll be sold in the next few weeks to a Saudi team before being sold again in January to another team. Nope, can't see it all.

They’ll sell Donkey Darwin and Diaz for £70m each and use the cash to buy Isak.

Strange timing all the same, why not come out with this weeks ago?

I hope they sell him to a saudi club to piss off the victim's, but what does it say about the player if he is willing to go there at this stage of his career ? In my opinion he has fcuked himself over and fcuked the geordies over by waiting until now to do this - really there are a shortage of viable clubs capable of buying him cos the chavs and victims have already bought strikers. Victim's supporting buddies of mine still believe that they will go back in for him, but having two first choice strikers is a recipe for disaster in same way having two first choice keepers was for us. Isak would have to be totally dumb to join manure with the mess they are in, but also could a club 1 BILLION in debt afford to buy him ?

Did sesko and his gang overplay their hand thinking there would be some frenzied bidding war, as far as i can see (wtf would i know) we strung sesko along to cover the big vik interest and in reality we were the only ones sesko was linked with. Now big viks on the way seskos people are high and dry with no one making inquiries

Isak could head to Saudi to collect the money for 2-3 years and then head back, what effect a holiday over there would have on his game is anyone's guess though, would have seemed unthinkable a few years back but these days anything is possible
