As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It looks like 90% of the forum are pleased with our striker signing but one or two (you all know who) have said nothing in agreement .
You surely cannot be digging at me here ?? I have openly been pro gyokeres for past few months here and have constantly argued that whilst he may be scoring in a weaker league, the guy does look like a natural striker and imo a natural striker will score goals at almost any level (saying that robbie fowler and wrighty never produced at international level and that always baffled me ). There were two strikers I opposed and they were sesko and vlahovic, and whilst osimhen was my number 1 choice, gyokeres was my close second
Just announce the signing FFS!! We don't wanna hear all paperwork is done, we don't wanna hear he's given green light for medical, we don't wanna hear he's boarding the fucking plane for christs sake, just announce the fucking thing and move on. Jesus fucking christ!!
They say society is getting angrier, can’t say I’ve noticed

How could anyone not be happy to some extent? It's a striker. We've all been crying out for one for years. I'm sure a couple of lads on here might have slight reservations, and that's fine. *Gyogi Bear might be a dud in the PL, who knows, but at least it's a big step in the right direction!
*And yes I will be calling him "Gyogi Bear" from here on and the cock obsessed few on here will just have to get used to it.
"Gyogi Bear" I hope he doesn't become a victim of the Boo Boo Boys.
I know nothing about Gyokeres beyond the couple of videos posted on here and his scoring record at Sporting, but I'm glad that we've at last bought a proper centre forward.
I didn't want Sesko, because from the very little I saw of him at last year's Euros, he was poor, although it's not much to go on. I've got reservations about Gyokeres, because he's 27 and only a couple of years ago was at Coventry, but it's clear there is a shortage of top strikers out there and I'm happy to take a punt on the guy. It's heartening, as others have said, that he's really keen to join us. Maybe the biggest positive of all is that he's not Havertz. Surely he has to be an improvement on the German dud?!
Given the choice, I would probably have made a bid for Lautaro at Inter and as augie says, it's odd that no one bids for Osimhen, who I assume is hard to handle.
Anyway, I'm happy that we've signed Big Vik and looking forward to seeing what he can do.
He looks strong and he can hit the ball hard.He reminds me of Malcolm Macdonald.
Arsenal will speed up their interest in pursuits of Eberechi Eze, as soon as the Gyökeres deal is sealed.
It is possible that Reiss Nelson is included in the deal.
@MiguelDelaney
The Independent reporting that Arsenal will move swiftly for Eze...Swiftly, Transfer and Arsenal are not words that go together.
There is also talk that Reiss will be used as a makeweight. I have to pinch myself we are now odds on to sign Eze. Bring him home Mikel/Berta. Imagine the reception both he and Gyok will get versus Leeds.
This would be the best transfer window in decades if we get Eze over the line. Strength in depth with some gold dust sprinkled too.

Some sites are saying that Flamengo are advancing on a deal for Gabriel Jesus on a one-year loan with an option to buy, after the player gave the green light to a return to Brazil. It is proposed that Jesus’ salary is divided equally: 50 per cent by Arsenal, 50 per cent by Flamengo.
