I must admit, signing Gyokeres has really perked me up for the season.

Signing Madueke has spoiled things a bit, I will admit; especially for the price we paid, but if we add Eze AND a left winger (Rafael Leão would be game changer) then we really would be in business! :barscarf:

Me too - to the point that I would consider putting his name on the new jersey that I will buy (had stopped putting names on jersies cos few on here suggested that "older" fans shouldnt be doing that   ).

I will say though, that for me the success or failure of this window depends entirely on whether we get eze or not - with him (in the 10 position) and our attacking threat goes up massively imo even without a new left winger, but if we still have captain invisible "supplying" our front 3 this season, then it doesnt matter if we had prime pires, henry and freddie as our front 3 cos the supply line will be faulty

I know I said that I intend to try to cool my jets re the kid dowman, but fcuk me what a talent he is, and it makes the decision to sign the chav reject all the more baffling - yes I know he cant play premier league until he turns 16 (in December), but surely we have enough options to get us through until then ? Many of us were pissed last season at the way Nwanieri's game time was severely limited, but if this chav reject comes in and isnt playing well and is preventing Nwanieri and/or Dowman getting game time, then the cone boy will not see out this season cos the fans will revolt imo.

The more time goes by without announcing new contracts for saliba and nwanieri, the more concerned I am getting - yes I understand the need to get recruitments in fast, and the need to get rid of the dross too (not looking likely btw), but keeping our main players and prospects surely has to be a high priority too ??
Every time I went to put a player on the new jersey, they left the club. First I went to put Cole on the back, he left that summer, then I wanted Henry, he left that summer, then was going to do RvP then he announced he was leaving. Thinking back on it, I should have put Wenger on the back of a shirt from 2012.

I agree that Eze should play the 10. Odegaard is simply not productive (good) enough to fire us to a League title or European Cup. Persoanlly, I’d sell him - we could benefit from his inflated market value and apparent popularity; or, at the very least, be him for Eze. We all know Arteta won’t drop Odegaard, so it’s likely that Eze will be hauled out on the left.

Also, I also agree with the fact that the more Arteta neglects Dowman/Nwanieri going forward, the more fans will begin to wake up to his inability to use talent and drop his favourites. We just need to ensure that these young talents believe in the club and want to stay, rather than feel comeoltyl disillusioned by Arteta.

Maybe you could say to the Footballing Gods that you are going to get Odegaard printed on the back of your shirt... so he Fucks Off ... We'll all have a Whip Round on here to compensate you mate!.. :D

But if we can sign Eze ... and dump one of the Duds on Palace as well, that's still worth a Semi ! :-P :D

Yeah! Cue plenty of posts calling the Cūnt out by the Mackem's Fan who used to post on here regularly (SAFC?)
Hopefully not, I'm looking forward to seeing him arrive and think he'll do well. We need the experience and, well, it's a world away from what we've been watching in league one!

Was glad to see you got a striker in as well, Gyokeres has tortured us a few times in the championship, think he'll be a great addition if you get the service right

Lovely to see you back, old chap. Been a while, most likely because we haven't played you much for the last few years. Best of luck this season, good to see your boys in the top flight again and make sure you give the scum and your scum a fucking good thrashing this coming season.

I really hope ye do well this season and stay up comfortably, but have to be honest and question if the swiss turd will bring the type of attitude you will need when backs are to the wall - the promoted clubs are under more pressure this season than ever before simply because the last two seasons have seen the promoted clubs go down without a fight and questions are now being asked if the gap is too big. Personally I think it is more of a reflection on the teams who just surrendered so I can understand why yourselves and leeds are splashing the cash to show intent to their players and fans alike, and hopefully instill some belief. I actually believe that leeds will stay up this season and sunderland have a fighting chance too - burnley have no chance imo cos they are a small club in every aspect and neither have the belief nor resources to stay up imo

137 caps for Switzerland, great contribution to Laverkusun, a very good good final season at Arsenal.

Was he a great player at Arsenal ? No

But unlike some I’d never call a Arsenal player a *word censored* etc

So many managers during his career seem to believe he had something to contribute.

the Gunners reportedly looking to 'move swiftly' for Eberechi Eze following the signing of Gyokeres.
Can anyone explain what 'move swiftly' means in this scenario? :D

So it's fine for the player to call the fans that and some...

Get over it.

I was in the stadium that day, and he was getting plenty of stick.

He gave some back, was he right, probably not.

I just don’t go around calling current or ex players c**ts.

If people want to do it, fine, but don’t f others voice disagreement then that should be accepted.
