ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Stuart was a good poster ,and as Retro said the constant pessimism probably put him off here.

I only post the odd rumours on here  I wouldn't be as good with words as most on here,so I only tend to make short posts, but have to admit there was times I thought about taking a break off here, due to the constant moaning and whinging, Now b4 I get attacked  I'm as frustrated as anyone else on here, and I'm a nightmare to deal with when we lose and obviously get angry with players and arteta like everyone else.

I've often thought about some young person deciding to follow a club ,and decides to check out various forums to get an idea of who to follow, and he checks in on this forum, if I was tht young person I'd think jesus these guys hate Arsenal i think ill follow another club

To sum up alot of stuff said on here i actually use when chatting about Arsenal to guys at work or in the pub ,they think im a footballing genius 8)

BTW I dont know how most of ye have the time to write long posts :rubchin:

PS Down with fucking quote towers

Jesus that's after taking alot out of me,ill have to go back to my beer now

I have to admit, the general pessimism and negative posts on here get me down too.

As for you Mc, you can't fuck off from the forum....I mean, where would we get all the bullshit rumours...errr, I mean factual news items from??

Good points...from those i could interpret...;) what with your interesting use of words! Joking never noticed that mcd!

I get massively pissed off in the moment and after bad games but the constant negativity here can be tedious! Yet I keep coming back for more....Stockholm syndrome...

And pre season not that I have watched has me worried as sounds like same as last year despite the signings...yes it's preseason so hopefully meaningless and we sweep all before us.

Oh and I fear how good gykores will be especially with sesko here, not that I have a clue how they will do but natural sods law says we get the lemon and the other guys shows us what we could have had...

While I'm one of the worst for it and can see that people want to believe that we're going to play total football and sweep all before us, I can't really understand why criticism is tedious, or in many cases, sees some posters get very confrontational, given that the negativity almost always turns out to be accurate.

I've said it on here before, but my criticisms are based on being able to see the very apparent flaws in our club/manager/team and it's fuelled by my obsessive desire to see us as not only the country's, but Europe's number 1 club. I'm desperate for a new 1930s era, which none of us have ever seen and at least want us to do everything we can to achieve it. As I want that success so badly, I can't just sit back and blithely delude myself that we're on the verge of greatness, when it's very apparent to me that we're far from it. Let's be honest, we've been in this rut for 20 fucking years and it's the same ol', same ol' season after season.

With some members it's as though criticising Wenger, Arteta, or the Club in general, is like slagging off their kids. What I really think is that the posters who get most touchy and hot headed about criticism, actually realise its accurate, but can't bear to face it and putting it in front of them triggers a reaction.

Yes Stuart was good as was nos89 who disappeared. Stuart did flip flop massively though he was one of the general moaners mostly, not the utter miseries...naming no names!! ;) then suddenly drank some Kool aid and was very positive and started calling everyone out who was negative which I found a bit odd when he was very much realist himself mostly.

Hope he comes back as more the merrier and the constant moaning and jumping on every bit of news from dodgy sources as gospel to beat the club/arteta with by some can get a bit much at times!

As a realist/mild moaner...ooo er...don't be getting any ideas OBG, it can get a bit heavy here at times when everything is jumped on.

I think it's when there nothing immediate to be negative about...nothing has triggered it specifically, than the same things we all know are gone over and it's just repeat repeat repeat moan about them for the nth time....

now I'm a massive hypocrite, as Im negative and guilty of it too, and I appreciate if those same old things weren't repeated in the summer months it would be quiet in here, bar the transfer thread till pre season, but I can see why it turns some off and even becomes a bit much for me...FFS not this discussion again kind of thing, we all know the shortcomings, no need to go over them again until the action starts, and nothing has triggered repeat of them, can't we give it a rest till the action starts and we can genuinely moan about them again, I'm talking about things like the nwaneri fears, the playing style, in game management things we can now happily moan about as we have seen in preseason nothing changed (bar nwaneri getting plenty of game time).

And I do t thave to come on here and read them, but I do as I'm an addict!

None of that probably makes any sense. But hey ho!

Sesko was too similar to havertz,

newcastle losing isak to Liverpool

Newcastle lose out on sesko

Newcastle will have 150m to spend on 'any old striker'

Arteta needs to drive havertz to St James Park breaking every single speed limit

🚨 UPDATE:

Expecting Fabio Vieira & Reiss Nelson to be EXCLUDED from Arsenal's matchday squad on Saturday as they are both close to exiting the club.

Stuttgart & Fulham the respective clubs. 🚪

Well thats decent news, ive nothing really against either of those lads but it was fairly obvious early on that Nelson just didn’t have it and viera was out of his depth in such a physical league.

Good luck to both of them as the sound of a double flush can be heard 😂😂

I predicted you were going to post it today

I’ll need to check if the sky sports super 6 predictions are running this season too (StuartL used to post for that)

Haven't seen anything of Stuart for ages! :?

Yeah, it’s a shame, Stuart was a really good poster and funny. I think he got pissed off with the pessimism and anti Arteta posts on here. Had a bit of a spat with our Dear Leader too. That’s how I seem to remember it anyway.

It would be good to see him back on here.
I never had a spat with Stuart!

You're going to find yourself banned when he that must be obeyed sees that you're trying to usurp him. Dangerous game to play Mantis.

Not to worry, Willy Wonka’s got him doing a double shift at the Chocolate Factory.

Well, this lovely old quote tower (fuck you McD!! ) seems to encapsulate all the cùnts in one place so I'll begin....

I do not recall having a spat (or a swallow ) with Stuart. I do recall he flip flopped spectacularly from constantly giving out about Arteta to suddenly getting offended by anyone that dared to say anything negative about Arteta (much like sid did  ) but I don't think he cunted everyone and stormed off in a huff (like sid did  ) But rather just drifted away. I too thought Stu was a good poster, but you know, people come and go on a forum.

Am I the only one who thinks Gykores (or whatever his name is) is carrying a bit of timber? Reminded me of Francis Lee when he walked out onto the pitch on the overseas tour. And as for those trousers!!!! Very dubious over a lot of our signings. As usual no apparent logic to Scarlet's actions. A poor start and hopefully he will be gone in a couple of months.

Could it be an off season thing and he just needs a little more time to get to his fighting weight?

He’s no cocktail stick thats for sure but hes not exactly jan molby either.
