🚨𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 🧨

Arsenal have Lyon’s Winger Malick Fofana on their shortlist during the final days of the window.

IF we complete the signing of Eze it's something I will be happy about it on many level's.

Top technical player, never heard anyone dispute that.

He has handled speculation in the correct way, not downed tools on CP, could of played up 'heads not in the right place to play' etc he didn't he put in a stellar performance against Chelsea.

He adds to the dressing room and a positive personality, this signing makes so much sense. I just hope it's completed, be a brilliant bit of business.

“He couldve gone to Tottenham
But wasnt having it.

Instead he signed for arsenal
To be like Ian Wright
Coz Eberechi Eze
Is fucking dynamite!”

You’re welcome. :barscarf:

Eze has agreed to join Spurs. Medical this week. Cant believe we are letting him join the scum. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Can I just say, I have never been happier to be wrong! Eze he’s a fantastic player, and he will be brilliant for us. Odegaard’s spot is under serious pressure now

What do we reckon the reality is??
It was always going to happen, or havertz got injured and forced them?

If its the latter then legohead was quite prepared to let eze go to the spuds in favor of his process poster boy.

Genuinely i think berta has bought eze and now legohead has a conundrum in his starting 11 because on form at least eze walks straight in and relives Ohdeargod of his spot.

It’ll be really interesting to see if the arrogance flares up and Ohdeargod keeps starting.

I'm trying to think why on earth he would sign Eze. I mean he has given his glowing tribute to Captain Invisible who was apparently the unanimous choice by "100 miles" and he has already got Saka as his main man on one side, and lashed out 52m for Madueke on the other. So, where does Eze fit? And if he does come what does that mean for Nwaneri and Dowman?

Don't get me wrong I like Eze, and I don't really want him signing for the vermin, but nor is that the reason to lash out 60m quid or whatever it takes on someone who will never be replacing Captain Invisible in the position where he could add most value

People tell me to "get real" cos there is no chance the cone boy will bring in eze to take ohdeargods place and I understand why people say that to me - for me it is a no brainer but realistically the cone boy will never drop the disappearing captain. However I am gonna come back at you with a similar thought process - this is a cunting manager who for years refused to buy a proper striker and you are suggesting that he buy two in the one transfer window ?? Not gonna happen buddy. I would take watkins to rotate with gyokeres but there is zero chance he will buy another striker much less one at watkins age and cost.

Realistically we are finished buying and our league ambitions will be gone by end september or october at latest
I think Gyokeres, as yet, has not become one of his favourite sons and he must (hopefully) realise that the paucity of options up front are what has cost him dearly. Fuck me, if he can't work that out then he really shouldn't be here at all.

Odegaard on the other hand, for reasons unbeknown to you or I, is his darling child - almost like a son, and you can see how defensive he was when challenged about his suitability for the captaincy. Like me, you also talk a lot about the need to give Nwaneri more playing time......so I ask the question again. Who does Eze dislodge, and how does his signing help your dual ambition of seeing more game time for Nwaneri?

Steve O you asked me the question assuming you want my thoughts so I will answer what I would do if I was manager as opposed to what the clueless cone boy will do -

1. At this stage I would sell trossard - imo he has been one of the few value for money signings in the last few years, but at his age and with younger players coming through, I would take advantage of the interest in him and sell him to raise funds
2. With those funds I would buy eze and automatically install him as first choice ahead of the disappearing captain - Nwanieri would be his back up at 18 years of age and would get plenty of game time to aid his development
3. The disappearing captain would either be re-trained to be back up to rice as an 8 or would be sold, but reality is that there never seems to be any clubs linked with buying him so I'm not sure how much interest we would get for him.
4. Dowman would get domestic cup games for sure and would see some league action as sub in selected games (mostly home games)

Take odeargod out of the equation and I honestly dont think we would have too many options if we bought eze, so I dont foresee an issue with game time for our young academy products
None of which is going to happen under Arteta which is exactly my point. With all due respect your fantasy league picks and mine are a total irrelevance

Anyway, everyone is going to get their wish it would seem with Eze, so no crying when that effectively means the next time you'll see Nwaneri will be when the Carabao Cup starts or Matchday 8 in the Champions League. Same for Dowman. Honestly they are going in the Reiss Nelson bucket so might as well go out on loan as Odegaard, Saka, Madueke and Eze effectively mean their chances for this season are gone. If Martinelli is retained then they are practically finished

Odegaard is the first name on the sheet every week along with Saka. He spent 52m on Madueke.....to warm the bench? Eze is going to be rotated with Madueke which won't suit either of them

As Rodders says we are a Gyokeres injury now away from Mikel Merino at centre forward

How anyone can think that's good business is just beyond me

That fact that Eze is going to play for Palace tonight seems absolutely mental to me - why risk it against a team of goat herders but apparently it was a stipulation of the deal from palace that he plays.

Great that we stole him from the vermin and he is an excellent player

Madueke, Martinelli, Trossard, Odegaard, Eze, Saka, Nwaneri, Dowman

And up front we have

Gyokeres plus 2 never will be permacrocks in Jesus and Havertz (neither of whom will ever score the goals needed anyway)

Spot the lack of balance anyone?

I agree with all your saying.

Nwaneri must be feeling sick.

Dowman will see no gametime when so close to signing that pro contract.

One injury away from no available strikers

Its a great signing - please don't think I'm upset about Eze being signed alone. If he was here to replace Odegaard I'd be positively orgasmic trust me! I just wonder how all these players will be shoe horned into the side, and desperately worry now about Gyokeres getting injured. Even if he doesn't he needs time, but right now with no Havertz he is going to have to play every game.....unless someone is going to suggest Merino, Martinelli or Trossard end up as emergency strikers.

Are you happy with the CF depth then ?

I'd say his people are desperately combing the contract for the cooling off period, even without the Eze signing Nwaneri was done for and sold a pup by the club. With legoheads infinite wisdom, ohdeargods undroppable status and the chav reject on the left Nwaneri's game time was never going to increase. Realistically though he's 18 and if he's intent on a longer tern Arsenal career he's just gonna have to bide his time until legohead goes out the door(sooner rather than later please) and he gets installed as a starter.

Martinelli, Trossard, Merino, Eze, and Nwaneri can all play upfront. In fact, if i remember correctly, didnt Arteta say some while back that he thought Nwaneri would end up being a CF ?
