DB10 - Am 40 and been going Arsenal since 75.

As for swallowing everything Arsenal, please do me a favour.

My point is that i don't understand how posters are having a dig at a fella who hasn't even kicked a ball for us.

Would be great to sign an established player, but the fact we haven't doesn't make it right to rubbish this the fella.

Well said EC3.

However, imagine what the chavs and manure would say. Theres a team apparently challenging for all major trophies next season and they've signed a new midfield player and he's...actually who is he. ?? It doesnt make a strong enough statement.

But good on Mr Wenger for getting some new blood in, lets hope he has a good one.

One thing that concerns me is how he switched so readily from France to Portugal, weather he wasn't good enough to play for france's senior squad, in which case why has Wenger signed him, or is it an indication he is using us as a stepping stone pretty much like Hleb has.

Fair point, mate. I personally haven't rubbished him (I wait until I actually see a player play before forming a full opinion of their ability), but I will now express my concern that we have added a player with little or no top level experience and he is injured!!

He may yet prove to be a genius move on AW's part in a couple of years, but that is the crux of the issue - we have enough players that may be world class in a couple of years time. What we need now is to sign experience and proven quality to keep the team competitive while those young players develop.

I find it a bit odd that you say you don't swallow the club line yet you condemn others for also not swallowing that same club line... :?

To be honest, I am pleased with the signing of Bischoff, despite knowing next to nothing about him.

Since Wenger took the reins, we have rarely been in the habit of signing 'name' players. Part of the joy of the last 12 seasons has been seeing the players on whom Wenger has taken "...a gamble" become essential components of exciting teams.

I can only look forward to the new season with confidence and excitement; after all, it's not 1985 or 1995, we are not reliant upon Eddie McGoldrick and we know that we will see inspirational football.

DB10 - Its not about swallowing what comes out of the Arsenal PR machine, i couldn't give two fucks about them.

uUtil this fella proves different then as far as i'm concerned i am more than happy to see him in a Arsenal shirt.

This is a big opportunity for him and i hope he proves to be a success.

For all the bitches and moaners on here about him, well you know my opinion.

Plus i don't have much time for certain aspects of the club as i was banned for a period of time.

An obscure young player who Wenger has taken a gamble on for very little money.

If it works out, it will be well worth it.

If not, there was not much lost.

I would rather have Bischoff on a free, than Bentley for £15M!
id have had bentley to be honest - could od wit someone like him. however i think we will still sign somone and i also think if bischoff gets fit and plays a few games, he could be a very good player.

whats the chances he receover, have an amanzing season and then join milan next summer!
