heading off to buy the new away shirt,
quick question :?: how old do you feel is old enough not to wearing the new shirts,
i have the 70s home and 71 away and wear them often, didn't buy the new home shirt which was the first time i have not had the arsenal home shirt since i was probably 5 ( I'm now 40 ).
so tell me I'm an old bastard who's to old to be wearing replica shirts

Are you an old bastard? - Yes

Rebel

I wear the 70s home shirt. I think it is classic and looks OK even on the oldest fart. Also has the merit of being OK for a number of seasons. I probably buy a new one every 3 years or so.

Not sure when the age cut off is. Also has something to do with physique I think. but i don't think you can be wearing the new ones when you're 50.

I'm not sure that there is an age limit as such but I personally feel it looks cooler to be earing a shirt that is a few years older than the current one 8) :barscarf:

I THINK ALL NEWCASTLE FANS SHOULD READ YOUR REPLY ABOUT PHYSIQUE. THOSE GUYS NEED TO LAY OFF THE NEWCASTLE BROWN STUFF.

BUT BACK TO THE POINT I DONT THINK THERE IS A CUT OF AGE ITS LIKE ANY OTHER PART OF BEING A SUPPORTER WHICH IS PERSONAL PREFERENCE. MY DAD IS A LIFE LONG ARSENAL FAN AND IN THE LAST FEW YEARS HE WOULD BUY THE CLUBS POLO SHIRTS.

I've got a whole stack of polo shirts I wear at home, but always the 70s shirt for match days.

EVERY TIME I GO TO A MATCH I ALWAYS PROMISE MY SELF I WILL GET A NICE RETRO SHIRT I LOVE THEM BUT I ALWAYS JUST GO FOR THE MODERN ONE.

I BOUGHT THE NEW POLO SHIRT FOR MY DAD AND ME YESTERDAY IN BLUE. REALLY NICE TOP.

WOULD BE EVEN NICER IF I HAD GOT ONE THAT WOULD FIT ME.

AH WELL MY DAD LIKED HIS

IN FAIRNESS YOU HAVE THREE TO PICK FROM ACTUALLY FOUR

1) THE NEW HOME ONE
2) THE NEW AWAY ONE
3) THE MAROON AND BLUE 3RD SHIRT
4) LAST SEASONS AWAY SHIRT

I stopped buying the shirts when we moved to the grove. I don't like all the writing on the front. Like rebel, I'm forty now (Unlike rebel, I don't look it  ).
I prefer the 1970's shirt and I have both but I don't wear any Arsenal shirts anymore. I still wear my scarf and have my Arsenal tax disc holder and air freshener in my car but that's about it these days. Oh no, I have a baseball cap as well that I wear sometimes when golfing.

I agree that there is something quite cool about wearing a shirt thats a few years old with that well worn look.

I think "older folk" look better in the shirts that younger fans are just too young to ever remember without looking it up. It adds to the longevity of their fanship.

Having said that the shirt i'm wearing when we win the league will be the only one i could wear to games again. Another random superstision to add to the list.

I'm gonna go buy the shirt in a sec or at lunch. :D

We've got a dress down Friday today and I've delebratly choose to wear a bright yellow top.
So when I return I'll nip to the gents and swap tops.
I'm sure my fellow colleagues (L'pool) will notice. 8)
