Liverpool/ManU: Panic Buying or Hoarding ?

Post by gunners-need-steel »

:?:
Me thinks that manure's recent spending smirks of panic buying, or at best a mind game designed to boost confidence of their team and worry their competitors.

On the other hand, livershit's buying smirks of hoarding players, mostly players that we have been linked with in the recent past ...

If they succeed with this strategy, it will be inspite of the spending and not necessarily for it .. and it doesn't bode well for the premiership b/c it will turn the whole thing into a mere money race with clubs competing on who has spent more, and with players increasingly being attracting seriously bloated transfer fees ...

a bit annoyed we didn't get Babel he seems to be the biz. watched him during the U21 Euro he is strong and great at running at defenders its easy to see why he is being compared to Henry just hope its not justified!!!!

Ram,

You're right mate, it's not quite wrist-slitting time yet but - as you know - your last statement about Chavski was wrong. They won two trophies more than we did!!

Yes, they would prefer to have won the Champions League and retained their title, and for the money they out-laid on players, maybe should have expected to win both. But to say they won shit all is just factually incorrect.

Whether we like it or not - and I don't - Chelsea are going to be serious challengers for all the major trophies for a good few years yet. Those people who thought the Russian crook would soon get bored with his plaything and would then piss off - leaving the Chavs in financial turmoil - will have to realise that just ain't going to happen anytime soon (unless, of course, Abramovic falls out with his mate Putin).

Ok, I admit it is technically wrong, but for the money they spent, the return wasn't great, as the silverware they did win wasn't exactly the sort they would have been hoping for (i.e league, cl).

But still, take heart fellow gooners!

I'm thinking they are splashing the cash to show they mean business but we will have to see once the season starts who has spent wisely, i honestly think the dame Chelski have spent well but we will have to wait and see.
I'm also happy with arsenals spending and who we have got, would like one or two more please Mr Wenger :D

I'd be happy with winning those two trophies this season so don't think it's that bad. Also agree that they have spent well this year, strengthening their squad with quality free signings and only spending out on a world class winger who we would have loved.

Also agree that would love a couple more (CB/LB/LW and/or RW)
