Are we buying anyone else yes or no?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

4th will be a struggle.

there would appear to be a lot of confusion about Eduardo's position. Wenger says he will play him as an out and out striker. Arsene claims that is why he is not going for Nic, he has enough strikers.

Maybe when silent Stan takes over will will get the big name we would all like to see. Saw the highlights from last nights game on Youtube, Theo looked lively and RVP will be good for us I am sure.

In the words of Guns 'n' Roses, try a little patience lads. I hope to get over to a game soon and maybe get a beer in the Pins with some of you when we can get lost in a world where only Arsenal matter. Welcome to my world!!!

Have to disagree for you for once Gus.

I don't have the same concerns as you do regarding our forward line. Yes Eduardo has never played in England before but he is an out and out goalscorer and with the chances we create he should be the missing link by putting them away. A goalscorer can score goals anywhere if given the chances and no team creates so many chances as us.

RVP, goes with out saying.

Ade, agree that he is not a goalscorer and obviously ANC coming up, but his presence will create chances for EDS/RVP.

Theo, yes still learning but don't want to stunt his development by not giving him the games and an extra striker coming in would hold him back unless AW will use him on the wing more.

Bendtner, similar to Theo but with the abilities of Ade in some respects. Big strong and skilful. Was disappointed with his goal record for brum last year but regular scorer for reserves and denmark so given the chances we create hopefully can find the net.

As have said before, need wingers and defenders more.

Hey kennyken,

welcome to the forum .. although I am not the best qualified to be offering the welcome, seeing as you joined b4 moi :D

anyways, u may have a point about Claud .. but I think we need a more established central defender, or just stick with Djourou as cover. In my opinion, SWP is unproven and seems light-weight'ish to me ... both for £15million is probably throwing money away ... both for half is more like it.

Regarding buying up big players, probably beyond us now given our present finances .. maybe if stan does get his way, that could be possible. But generally, big-name signings come with its own problem of incorporating all the over-sized egoes into a tangible team-spirit, adapting all new players into our establised way of playing ... look how long liverpshit has been buying (and how much they have spent) and they aint made that much progress if you ask me ... I am sure this season will be no different and we'll definitely finish above them.

Summer spending

Post by lowerwest »

Quite concerned about this season...we havent really got any excuses to fall back on. New home (last year) or CL Final (2005). Still reckon too much experience left at the same time...Robert Pires was a bad error IMO.People talking up Bendtner and Theo-i will bet they dont get 10 Premiership goals between them.

Well Bobby is one of my all time favourite players, but I agree with and understand, AW's rolling 1 year contracts for over 30's are you suggesting that we make exceptions for certain players???
