Genuine Barry rumour

My mate bumped into Gareth Barry at FACES in Gants Hill and showed me a pic with him.He asked him are you going to ARSENAL then ?

Barry didn't say a thing just gave him a wink and a laugh.

So what does that mean? Was a wink to say"alright drunken person I'm going to leave now" or "yes mate just wait a bit longer".

What do you think ?

But my mate met him a club in May time and he asked him are you going to liverpool and he said 'is sure looks like it, yeah'

For what it's worth..I once asked Steven Gerrard if he would ever fancy playing for Arsenal..and he just smiled. five years on, and I'm beginning to think his smile didn't mean "wait and see"..but probably just meant, "leave me the fuck alone you drunken fool"

Well, I don't see anything in the above comments to indicate Barry's thinking either way, but to answer Tony's question: it's a genuine rumour in the fact that it 'allegedly' came from Barry himself whereas, as we all know, most of the rumours in the papers are just made up by lazy journalists

Which is not to say that this one wasn't fabricated, but the fact Barry is a London boy - whose family are all Spurs fans!!

- means it is possible that Barry was at the venue claimed.

Personally, although I would love him to, I don't think Wenger will buy either Barry or Alonso.
