ARSENAL were last night bracing themselves for another sensational multi-million pound bid for control of the club - this time from Formula One kingpin Bernie Ecclestone.
The move will spark an incredible battle for control of the north London giants, placing the Grand Prix ringmaster in direct competition with American billionaire Stan Kroenke.
Mirror Sport revealed yesterday that Kroenke is planning a £650million takeover bid for Arsenal within weeks. But while Kroenke has an estimated fortune of £1billion, Ecclestone's worth is more than treble that.

I have just read this in the mirror im not sure what to make of it, im a massive F1 fan that comes second behind the Arsenal.
If the story is true i would prefer Bernie to buy us only because i know more about him, his estimated fortune is more than £3bn and Kroenkre is only a mere £1bn
Anyways i just want Arsenal to be able to compete on the pitch and win trophies with or without help from mega takeovers

Well Ecclestone has apparently said
a) if someone asks me
b) if it's cheap enough
c) not sure how chelsea would feel about it
Which says to me more speculation than substance. He is a self confessed chav fan so maybe he would not be as interested in making Arsenal the best as SS would. Plus the 'cheap' comment suggests he may have the money but not necessarily will spend it.
Interesting that he has apparently spoken to DD though, which may be where the press have pushed this story.
One good thing about SS is that he is richer than Glazer which I didn't realise until this morning.
Interesting story on the editorial regarding potential SS takeover though.
