usual thread starter… The danger is obviously what happens when Cesc stays silent when the speculation starts again. Is the writing on the wall or does anyone believe the lad will remain at Arsenal to play his best years at the club?
God Bless Cesc Fabregas (10/8)

in fairness, the club turned down a £50 million bid for thierry henry in late 2004, at a time when they really needed the money.
i think they played hardball over adebayor. so if a player is determined to go, the club will let them go if the price is right. if it isn't they stay, assuming the contract arrangements can be sorted. adebayor has had his wages doubled, but that's as insurance to ensure he doesn't run down his contract and become worth a lot less.
the club did well to get the money they did for hleb - a wantaway - with only 2 years left on his deal.
but remember, if the price is right, anyone will sell to anyone. juventus sold zinedine zidane at the peak oh his powers. barcelona sold luis figo to real madrid. no-one is immune. ok - maybe chelsea now, but who wants to support a club where you get zero credit for winning anything?

The club have the upmost respect for Cesc for the person he is & the way he conducts himself unlike Adebayor.
If as expected we fail to achieve the title or CL he has every right to consider his future & none of us should be that shocked if he wants away.
As much as he has genuinely grown to love the club his head may tell him that our best chance of winning the title went last season, & the likelyhood of us competing with the mancs & chavs, less likely to bring us the PL in the next couple of years without the investment that was promised from the new stadium.
