Do Arsenal’s board want Wenger to spend? (25/7)

Usual thread starter. From Arsene’s statement in reponse to Freddie:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/a ... ge_id=1779

it seems he is content with his midfield central and wide. Think he’s also said there will be no more strikers bought. Could be a smokescreen of course. He wouldn’t say – I am seeking a winger – but just go and buy one without anyone knowing about it until after the fact. Think the writer of the exclusive has it right though. Surely, not enough quality for a complete season even if arsenal can beat anyone on the day. Even back to 2003, with a lot of experience in the team, we sorely missed tony adams for the run-in, and paid. Experience is key when the crunch games come in april and may.

Maybe whether we spend big or not really is all down to Wenger.

As my mate said to me yesterday: "Wenger throws money around like a man with no arms!!"

When Wenger spends alot or brings in a few players we seem to win the double
98 with Petit, Overmars, Giles, Manninger etc
02 Campbell, Wright, Jeffers, Inamoto, Gio etc

So far we've landed Eddy, Sagna etc which looks good as each year slowy Wenger rebuilds the team from under our nosies
& ere's me saying a couple of years ago that there weren't enough change

After the Inter Milan game Arsene was asked does he think we need to buy a winger? His answer was "Can i remind you of Theo"
I think that quote right there tells you he isn't looking for a winger, and it probs confirms that young Theo will be played on the wing and not so much up front.
