Everything will be fine!!
The only good thing about yesterday's result is that it has happened so early in the season and therefore there is still time to address it. Imagine this happening in Feb/March???
Remember Man U's start last season where they only scored three goals in their opening 5 starts which inc 2 draws and a defeat and two lucky home wins over sp*rs and Sunderland.
I still think Alonso will be brought in as well as the possibility of another one (maybe a loan!!!) and with Silvestre, Fabregas, Diaby, Rosicky and Eduardo still to come back we will be fine come what May!!!!!

To be honest, I'm confident of finishing top 4 but I kind of had my heart set on the title, and yet, in all honesty, I'm doubting that's a possibility at the moment.QuartzGooner wrote:Things will get better, we had a lot of injuries, ...but I am still not convinced we will finish 4th or above without
Seriously decent signing for midfield.
I also think we should try Rv Persie on right wing.
Pompey, City, Villa, Spurs and Everton have also lost a game or 2this season, and they are our competition for a top 4 place...and yes, as you say, with a decent acquisition at centre mid, I'm sure we'll have enough to hold onto a top 4 place...but is that enough?

The positives are that ManUre have also slipped up, whilst Cheslea looked ordinary today (but still won) and Liverpool have looked pretty average too, but again, have found the solutions in the end, and won both their games late on.

To be honest, I agree that things will improve with quality players coming back. And we will finish in the top 4 but only because the clubs outside the top 4 are so poor. We are deffo 2 midfilders, a striker and a CB short of a serious challenge. And I'm not talking numbers here, they have to be proven experienced quality.

By our standards, this has been a shit start to the new season.
We only have a few short weeks to sort ourselves out, or we can kiss goodbye to any hope of glory.
That is a sad thing to say.
And I am normally an optimist.
Adebayor has been crap.
Nasri has been excellent.
Theo has not produced the goodies.
Van Persie has not been at his best.
We need better performances from all our players.
This needs to start happening in our next match.

There is so much that falls at the feet of Wenger. The man has performed miracles in the years that he's been here but let's not get carried away into thinking he can do no wrong. George Graham took the club to new heights in the late eighties/early nineties then he took us all the way back down and almost got us relegated in the mid nineties. We have hit the heights with Wenger but it looks suspiciously like we are on that big downward curve at the moment. There are more and more lies coming from Wenger, his stubborness in refusing to sign established players is costing us big time.
This current squad is not good enough. We are three injuries away from disaster (if the Fulham match wasn't a disaster anyway) - If Fabregas, Adebayor and one of the central defenders are out for any length of time, we are shafted. The problem is that the board are happy for Arsenal to finish top four and that's it - as long as Wenger makes money they are happy. I'm not saying spend £70m and put us in financial trouble, I'm saying spend a bit of money wisely and we will be ok. We are probably saving between 150-200k a week on wages from the summer departures, that's over 10m a year! Why do we never sign anyone on loan? You have the likes of Tiago available at the moment - not the best in the world but a decent player to have in your squad, there must be others like him available? Why look to loan Djourou? Surely if anyone needs to be loaned out it's Walcott? Vela looks 10 times the player Walcott is and he's only been here 5 minutes. I just don't understand what Wenger is doing, his team selection is poor, his tactics have never been his strong point and now we have such a poor squad there is virtually NO competition for places that is not healthy! None of the issues from last season have been addressed - that is bad management. In my job if my company had issues and I didn't address those issues as a manager, I would be in serious trouble and yet Wenger is revered by some as untouchable!? I think he needs to take a good long look at the situation and at the very least, needs to be more honest with the fans. Tell us there is no more money available and we can all settle down for the season knowing what we have is what we put up with for the season - but if we do have some money then for f**** sake buy an established quality player and don't worry too much about hurting Denilsons feelings!!
