Midfielder to the Emirates? Twente looms...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Will Arsenal have a new midfielder by Wednesday?

Yes, AW would never lie to me.

Midfielder to the Emirates? Twente looms...

Post by BergkampGooner »

I'm quite newish to the forum so, err, hi
Well I've been reading the articles and other threads recently and aside from the obvious lake of crap the good ship Arsenal is sailing through now (and in the forseeable future) many people have mentioned Wenger lying about causes of supposed action for this season such as the new centre-half.
I'm not going to go into how bad it is actually on the pitch but I'm not extreme enough to want to see Arsene go after the previous success he's brought us (although I do think he's off his face on smack with his kindergarten-on-a-pitch experiment).
To be honest after these last six months events and a recent BBC Sport article ("We are no closer to signing any new players") I'm not too confident he will sign a mid.
Even if he does, who will it be? I want Alonso (Cesc wants him, get him) but I think it'll be Inler. As for Barry, and I'm probably wrong, but I think he's too old and too pricey and with no major title experience. And Alonso has better stats on Pro Evo :P.
Anyway I've attached a poll to see whether in Wenger we do/do not trust.
Good luck with the kids, AW :banghead:

Given how cautious AW can be in this area it would not surprise me if he is waiting till Thursday to be 110% sure we are in the CL. :banghead:

This bollocks happens every fucking season.
Every other team gets sorted and we pick up any crumbs a day before the deadline.
But this time im sure we"ll sign fuck all.
After saturday,we need fucking half a team to join though

Just seen an interview on Sky Sports and AW's happy with his squad at the moment and thinks they can win the Champions League as they are.
I don't think we could win the Blue Square with this squad.
Wouldn't it be ironic if we did end up winning the Champions League with Eboue scoring the winning goal?
