Will this Season be GOOD!

Post by Ollar »

Really, I don't want to nurse any fear as regard our performance this coming season...but the fact is that in football the world's eyes are on Arsenal FC to see if we can proof an effective performance with Henry's exit...YES! We CAN!!!

But my ultimate challenge now is the training tour to Australia which a local clubside walloped the Gunners...MEN! itz really an issue to bother on...

Pls, I need to hear from the golden haired man called "WENGER" to refresh my hope for this season!

Sincerely yours

There will be eyes on us after the departure of thierry and can we cope, but with this departure of henry no one is exspecting us to win anything so we might be extreme dark horses for the title but maybe that's when we'll flourish with the pressure taken off.

i have said in another thread but i'm more than happy to say it again,
I think this season will be a special one, i think we have now settled at the Grove and even last season showed moments of sheer brilliance and this without the likes of Henry and Rvp.
Our season last year was very hard with all the injurys we had and i think it was to do with the world cup because we had about 16 player out in germany, that was one more than chelski i think. also we had one of the hardest games of our lives just befour the world cup yes i'm talking about the champions league final, so with a good pre-season and our young players having matured for another season i think we are in a stong posision

basicly i was trying to say yes this season will be good  8)

Im more hopeful than posistive we will have a good season! People seem to think Thierry and Freddie made Arsenal?
Well we have lost great players before and bounced back!

Look at the players still on the books! Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool would pay millions of pounds for the likes of
R van Persie, Fabregas, Walcott, Toure and Eboue!
Then add the fact of the talent we have in the youth set up! Carlos Vala, Fran Merida, Rhys Murphy 3 players who could and should make the grade!
then you have players who have pontential and will hopefully step up this year! Rosicky, Gallas, Hleb, Bentner and Adebayor

We have 2 decent keepers with a good 3rd choice keeper!

Remember after Smith came Wright after Wright came Henry and after Henry came....... ?ell we shall see

In the Premiership are we really going to finish about Chavski & ManUre?

In Europe are we really going to beat Barca, Real, Valencia, Bayern, Milan, Inter, Lyon?

The FA Cup and the Carling Cup are the only hope and I wouldn't bet on either of them.

I watched some of last nights game and can't see anything that will scare any of the top sides. Fergie is taking the piss out of us saying we're better without Thierry. Eduardo is ok at best, Bendtner is lazy, Denilson has the shot of a 6 year old, Toure can't defend, Eboue can't defend or cross and last but not least Jens is crazy and will cost us at least 10 goals and at least 7 yellow cards this season.

At one point Hleb ran down the right, got to the end line and crossed the ball. RVP was standing about 8 yards out at the front post and Eduardo in the same position at the back post. Neither were found. Bobby found Freddie quite frequently in those positions. There was link-up play from Cashley, Bobby & Titi on the left and the same on the right with Lauren and Freddie. There was Dennis up front feeding Bobby, Freddie & Titi with sublime passes time after time. The current players don't seem to be on the same wavelength.

I just don't know what to do anymore.

It is all very noble of us fans and supporters to be upbeat regarding Arsenal and the upcoming season, but why are we upbeat? Now I like to think no one loves the Gunners as much as me however while I know on our day we can beat anyone just wonder how many days will be our day :?

Promising talent aside in real terms our team has been weakened. While the door is still ajar for new arrivals we are yet to see any "super, super" players land at our door. Is the team in it's present form capable of bettering 4th spot? I for one doubt if we would get any higher than a lowly 4th place finish

For all his acclaimed scouting network Arsene still seems hell bent on NOT spending the board's cash. A big name arrival just prior to the Emirates Cup would be a nice boost for one and all, with a few more to follow :!: :!: :!:

I totally disagree with the idea that the World is looking at Arsenal after Henry's departure. I think people are unsure about how good/bad we will be, but clubs such as West Ham, Liverpool, Manwho & Newcastle have spent loads of money and have had high-profile summers. The press will be gunning for Liverpool to fail and especially Torres. While West Ham will be a season-long saga.

I think we could sneak ourselves into some silverware...not sure what though!

We do seem to have some problem areas within the squad that just haven't been dealt with, namely the wings. However, I trust Arsene.

Its our second season at the Grove; players like Walcott, Hleb and Gallas have something to prove and da Silva will hopefully start firing before we hit Xmas (secretly I'm hoping he'll blow the premiership apart and scare the shit out of defences everywhere!)

We need a good start, if we get off on the right foot, then the momentum will hopefully help us.

I just want: the boys to sort out the results against lesser teams (two away games last season stand out...Cetah & Fulham); have some great home games and find a new pub to drink in before/after.

Looking forward to Saturdays again!

BEST WE CAN DO

League-4th (Dangers Spurs,Pompey,West Ham)

Euro-QF at best (unlikely IMO depends on draw)

Cups-Possibile runs in both depends on draw.

Compare that with 2004 and u get your answer.
