Van persie may have broken his ankle

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hope nothing is broken and it is simply bruising but we always be scared for him given his record of injuries.

Bollocks!

That on top of the fact that the two lovely young ladies in their early 20s who I work for and think I'm indespensible and keep giving me presents leaving to be replaced by two men with beards means this weekend hasn't brought much in the way of luck.

Your right Mrgnu, just think what we could have got out of him over the last few years had it not been injured?

We've been cheated out of happiness, like I was with those two young ladies.

Wenger didn't sound too worried in the interviews...so hopefully he'll be ok. Anyway, at least RvP has 2 weeks to recover before our next match..away at Blackburn.

Surely he won't play during the international break. The Dutch are only playing Australia.

He needs all the cotton wool + recovery time we can get for him!

I seriuosly doubt it's a break. He walked off without as much as a limp. I think it's more the fact his standing foot got stamped on while he was shooting and the took him off more for precaution.

But then again, it is RVP! God I hope it's not the dreaded metatarsil!!

:duh:

from Arsenal.com

On Van Persie...

"He can be that link between midfield and the strikers, and it is the way we want to play. i think you could see he was in shape and when he is like that he is very important player for us.

"He is having an X-ray and we have to check his ankle. Hopefully nothing is broken but I don't know yet." :banghead:
