Two Reassuring News Articles
Two Reassuring News Articles
The first is about Clichy speaking out in defence of Arsenal, and 'striking back' at Ljungberg for his comments.

The second is about Hleb's desire to be more selfish around goal next season and have a few shots. Did I not say he would be better?

I'm sure that like most players however Hleb is a man of his word.
Sure would like to see it happen though, he really would be good if he could score some goals, everyone overlooks how good his close control is just because he doesn't score.
I'm willing to put money on him to be Belarussian player of the yeaar this year for the 26th year running too

Hleb scored only 13 leaugue goals during his 5 years at Stuttgard , as much as i would love to see him get into double figures this season its highly unlikely .
at the very least he needs to improve his assists tally , i believe he got only 4 last season ( though dodgy finishing by the strikers is equally too blame for the low figure ) .

Its re-assuring to have arsenal players speak up in defence .. so, Gael's comments are great.
On Hleb, and unlike many other folks in these forums, I do rate him highly .. If he has come to a realisation that he has been short of his potentials and expectations, thats really great because I think only a little bit of extra is required to make him truly world-class ... Hope to see that this season.

Watch as Hleb gets into double figures this season. I think I've become quite the fan of Hleb the last year actually.

Its refreshing to hear such positive comments coming from a player who is young, talented, and hopefully going to be here for many seasons.

Hleb HAS got very good tight control but he is lacking in other areas. His passing is dodgy and he has little vision for the killer through ball.
As far as his shooting goes, I think he (like EVERY OTHER SINGLE PLAER APART FROM RVP) suffered from FEAR OF TH14 SYNDROME...
With Tel gone I think we actually will see more shots from the midfield. Whether Hleb steps up on the other problems with his game is anybody's guess...

not just hope green g,, do believe we are on the verge of something here,, wit th14 gone i feel the players will up there game witout the dirthy looks and shrug of the shoulders,, as i keep saying it was bottom 6 we fecked up against and not top 6 so if we can be more ruthless then a good season is there 2 be hadgreen gooner wrote:Is this what we are building a season upon, good grief![]()

How I do hope you are so right Rebel my friend
From an optimistic stance to begin with I now find myself courting doubt and fear. Where are the top players the Grove was to allow us to buy, where is the wheeling and dealing Wenger of old, where is the title ambition and not just settling for 4th and a CL spot
.
Are we a club who can honestly say we have progressed over the past couple of years or are we just past our best
Help me drag myself out of this mire of anxiety and foster me a little hope
Maybe the Emirates Cup will provide a few clues as to which way we are going

It might do but i will know more after the 1st 5/6 games of the season. If Wenger puts strong sides out in the Emirates cup then we will know more but i think he will play around so we will still be clueless to his plans for the seasongreen gooner wrote:Man utd was the same a few seasons ago now they are getting back to there best again it took them 3/4 seasons, so far we have had what you would call 2 dodgy seasons where we haven't won nothing but we will get back to our best Arsene will make sure of itAre we a club who can honestly say we have progressed over the past couple of years or are we just past our best![]()
