Greatest Form of Protest
Money. You all know that essential all this comes down to money. The only time any corporation will ever take notice of their actions is when the amount or revenue that can be generated takes a serious knock.
If you really are upset that ticket prices are too high, that you can't drink in the stands yet the barcode chairman can be show on tv necking a pint, that we can't have banners or flags, that we can't stand yet in the same venue for a rock concert you can, that ticket prices are too high, that you think the club are not taking their future seriously and not purchasing any players or are lying about how much money the club has in order to do so. If these things reall bother you then you all know the best form of protest is to use your feet and your money and not turn up.
Imagine if every season ticket holder decided that for one televised game, in order to get your point accross, just didn't turn up. Yes you would lose the cost of your seat, but essentially that doesn't amount to more than a night out. Imagine the coverage focussing on a stadium more than half empty.
The shock to the clubs purse strings may not be so great, but to be able to have your voice heard in the one manner that keeps them afloat would definately get the message across that we, the fans that attend every game, pay our hard earned money are not to be treated like numbers, or just another source of income. Instead that we have a voice and want to be heard.
Just an idea.

Agree mate, just a lot of people will turn up anyway, there are many Arsenal forums and probably only a few thousand that amounts to, so it wouldn't really make a difference if you went to every Arsenal forum on the web and posted this post. We would need to let the whole world know this, not just a few forums, but the catch is how?Gurmokh wrote:Money. You all know that essential all this comes down to money. Entirely agree with this idea and would send out a message but would only really apply to season ticket holders.
Is it seriously worth considering some sort of campaign to show the fans frustrations with the current board - not really arsenals style but i dont think they have any idea at how p*ssed off a majority of the hardcores are with a lot of there decisions over the past couple of years from ticket prices to transfer activity to stadium rules to ditching the white sleaves.

Well im not goin to the man usa game as it is, but surely it will have a big effect on the players, to be playing in a half empty stadium. Yes the ticket prices are a joke so to are the food and drink prices in the ground, but at the end of the day, they know, that us the fans, are mugs and will pay it. They also know that red members would snap them tickets away straight away, or if it went on general sale it would be sold out, these people aint stupid, but think we are, well they are right because we pay the money to go. No matter how you try and do it, it wont happen, the games will sell out to people who dont get to go week in week out...

Re: Greatest Form of Protest
First off i'm not saying that this has to be done. I love seeing Arsenal play and wouldn't miss them for anything, but if i knew it would make a difference then i would happily miss a game.
Yes the adverse effet of any such protest would be the players mindsets, but barr a select few their loyalty pales in comparison to ours. The point in the protest is to secure long term change, players now-a-days would be long gone before they would see any such results.
There are a number of ways it could be achieved, this forum is immensely popular and provides access, of sorts to the gooner.Ed, (Hi Kev, love the book). and with it the gooner fanzine. The Red Action group is essentially all of block 6 and by far the most vocal and most heard section of the stadium with them missing alone it would have a serious impact on the atmosphere as it is.Sutch wrote: Agree mate, just a lot of people will turn up anyway, there are many Arsenal forums and probably only a few thousand that amounts to, so it wouldn't really make a difference if you went to every Arsenal forum on the web and posted this post. This would not only apply to season ticket holders, yes season tickets are pre-sold at the start of the season and they have to be re-sold via the exchange system if you plan not to attend, but the club has no idea if you plan to attend or not. The same goes to all other levels of membership, if you purchase a ticket and do not attend the seat will be empty.barnfield88 wrote: but surely it will have a big effect on the players, to be playing in a half empty stadium. As i said in another post elsewhere the board know that every home game there will be 60,000 mugs there come what may. There was no protest over the season ticket raisewas there the fans just paid itbarnfield88 wrote:Well im not goin to the man usa game as it is, but surely it will have a big effect on the players, to be playing in a half empty stadium. Something has got to be done to get the message across to the board that we wont take it anymore. What about a boycott of a home FA cup game Wenger doesnt take the competition seriously anymore so it wont affect the players if the ground is 3/4 empty

Logistics aside and put simply
There are 40,000 season tickets. 'IF' all those didn't turn up for a game, it would have a massive impact. Obviously there are those that think, and justyfiably so, that it really wont make any difference still turn up. .There are still those among us who believe we can make a difference.
Post in forums, articles in fanzine will inevitably make no difference. You have to get them where it hurts.

I would certainly be in favour of some form of organised protest and feel it is long overdue. A boycott of some game, the fans leaving their seats a few minutes into the game to stay in the concourse or indeed the fans waiting until 10 minures into the game before entering the ground makes perfect sense to be although some songs/chants aimed at the board wouldnt go astray either. Give me a bit of notice and I will haul my arse over from Ireland for whichever game the protest in being staged at
