Strongest starting XI

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I really am relishing the chance to see Song get a decent run in the team. He progressed immensly last year, and he can offer us a lot in the Defensive midfielder role.

so here goes:

------------------------------Almunia----------------------------------------

Sagna-----Gallas\Djourou\Toure-----Gallas\Djourou\Toure------Clichy

--------------------Song------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------Cesc-------------------------

----------Theo--------------------------------------------------Nasri--------

----------------------------------------RVP-----------------------------------

----------------------------------------Ade-----------------------------------

Almunia

Sagna Toure Silvestre Clichy

Rosicky Fabregas Song Nasri

Eduardo RvP

Theo plays better up front than on the wing, but Eduardo is the better option.

This formation allows the defence to be shielded by Kolo, and also makes use of our best attacking players. Rosicky can tackle a bit too, so though I would not play him next to Cesc in a 4-4-2, I would in this 4-5-1.

I prefer 4-4-2 as a spectator,

but with our current squad lacking the top notch defensive midfielder wee al hope would be signed yeasterday, (though I have hopes for Coquelin)

and with a secure central defensive partnership yet to be in evidence,

I feel 4-5-1 is the best chance of 4th place finish this season.

Ahhh...a game that I still say "What if?"

Pires was our best player that night, even if he got subbed early.

they were all incredible,i was so proud to be a arsenal supporter that day,100 percent passion from the lot of em.

apart from manuel 'im meant to save it ?' almunia

although if thierry had just scored that chance 20 minutes from the end

man those were his bread and butter, clean through, slide it into the bottom corner

ive got to cry now
