image re-sizing

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

image re-sizing

Post by gooner.ed »

i'm going to put together a tutorial for some of our photo posters who don't know how to re-size images for the forum (and indeed use photobucket, so i'll add that too). but there is something that can save me a bit of time.

i used RapidoResizer to adjust image sizes - but that's a piece of freeware for macs. simple, quick and brilliant. is there a pc equivalent? i've googled it and it seems to be mac only.

once i have an idea of the best freeware for pcs, i'll be posting (and indeed PMing to repeat offenders!) instrucs on how to keep pic posts from disappearing off the screen due to excessive width.

What about linking pictures from others sites?
Do they need to be saved (uploaded) to PC then resized before posting :?:

Photobucket does the resizing for you!

Choose the option to edit picture and there is a resize tab. The size you need or the biggest that can be shown here is large or 640x380 I think!

Also if you are uploading from your pc there is now the option to upload to the size you want under choose files. Choose the same size as above and hey presto no distorted screen!

Now back to playing hi-de fucking hi in Norfolk!

Oooooaaaaarrrrrr!

There's a freeware program called Irfanview that lets you resize images. Works on PC.

so you took the trouble to use tinypic but didn't alter the dimensions!

ok - i haven't done the tutorial yet, but this is exactly the reason why it's required!
