NEW SONG

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not sure of the exact address off by heart to be honest but the website is www.redaction.org.uk i'm sure they'll have a contact page.

Fair enough about not wanting to come across as though youre taking all the credit for Jim's song, maybe 2Smooth could take a leaf out of your book

See this on RedAction

My Old Man’s A Dustman (Lonnie Donegan)
"Theo Walcott's magic! He wears a magic hat! And when he saw Ashburton, he said 'I'll play in that!
He didn't sign for Chelsea! The Russian rent boy scum!
He signed up for The Arsenal cos we're London's number one! Oooooooooh!"

A good Theo Walcott song :D

I'm more than up for a good sing song at the Emirates
Song sheets should be put on each North Bank seat for one of the Emirates cup matches so in the end we know the words
I wouldn't mind being given a job by putting them in a couple of hours before the fans come in 8)

About song sheets
I think it`s a good idea, but they should contain New Songs
No reason to fill them up with "Good old Arsenal" and Arsene wengers magic.
Song sheets with 2-4 new suggestions, and then spread them out at the entrances, same sheet for 2 or three home games, and then move on to the next suggestions. Those songs good enough will survive and we will see more new ones

I'm not sure if it has been suggested before on other threads - and apologies if it has - but how about reviving the 'Super Nic' song for Nicklas Bendtner?

Everyone knows it and it would give the young man a big confidence boost to hear it being sung, which in turn might enable him to rise up to the challenge of trying to score goals for the Arsenal.

All together now:

Super, Super Nic
Super, Super Nic
Super, Super Nic
Super Nicklas Bendtner.

Talking of thieving bastards I noticed in this months Gooner that Jesper Arnsberg gets a name check for his Proclaimers 500 miles song when it was my bloody idea for RVP and I posted it here about 2 months ago!!

I am not bitter but my one chance of fame in Englands finest mag has been taken from me in a flash.

I've emailed red action with the song but have said about gooner jim's contribution i also emailed gooner jim to tell him about it, here's the email.

Hi, Someone from the online gooner forum came up with this verse to the tune of let it be by the beatles for RVP, after his initial thoughts i thought of a second verse what do you think.

When we found ourselves in times of trouble Arsene Wenger came to me
Speaking words of wisdom, sell Henry
And when we got the cash from Barcelona who would our new striker be?
Arsene said politely: van Persie
van Persie, van Persie, van Persie, van Persie, he will be the answer, van Persie

And when the arsenal supporters
Living in the world say hehe,
They no what the answer is, van persie, van persie
For though they may be half hearted
hopefully they will see
There will be an answer, just wait and your see
Van Persie,Van persie. Yeah
There will be an answer, Van persie, Van persie.

First verse written by gooner jim second verse written by me ben-gooner14.

Ben Hunt

Ah, never mind DBrien. :( The reason Jesper's version took off rather than yours was because it was more relevant - coming as it did straight after the Eduardo signing. 8)

As the famous saying about the secret to good comedy goes: 'Timing is.., er.., everything!!' :D
