Today's the Day

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Today's the Day

Post by delgooner »

Morning all,

Well, in a couple of hours I'll be heading down the A1 to meet up with my brother and then on to the Emirates for my pilgrimage to the Home of Football. Apparently its a sell-out so hopefully its gonna be a great day. Watched both matches yesterday on the box, but didnt think you could read much into them. Wondered what La Boss was up to putting out 5 different players in second half, but thought he might have been seeing what it would be like when Kolo et al go off to the african cup. Im feeling like a little kid at the moment, got my fingers and toes crossed that nothing disasterous happens getting to my mum's and everything goes well. Gonna try and make it to the Rocket before the games so I might see some of you fellow onliners in there. I'll be looking out for Gus Ceaser Is A Legend as he's taking his missus and I know that he's gonna try and make it to the Rocket.

Well here's to a great day and I hope to run into a few of you.

PS. By the way, me and me bro are over 60 so it will be easy to recognise us as we look like the miserable gits from the Harry Enfield show. :x

Yeah Gus, Im 60 and my brother's 64, we're gonna try and pretend we are smoking officers from Islington Council to try and get in the Rocket, we both look like miserable bastards so we might get away with it. Been a gooner since I was 5 :D

I'll be wearing my red Arsenal polo shirt and Im skinny with grey hair and I have a little beer belly, so I look like a bootlace with a knot in it so you should recognise me. If we cant get in the Rocket will see you over the road. Will be around about 12.30.

All the best, Del

song for today *out of the title*

today is gonna be the day arsenal wiin the emirates cup.

sorry im also in that little kiddie mood. lol

all we need is a 0-0 draw in the first game between valencia and psg, and then arsenal beat inter 1-0 and we have won it.

the bad thing is after the way inter played yestodasy i cant see that happiening!!!

common the arse if they do draw 0-0, dont jus settle for a 1-0, go out there and get as many as poss.

We must take this cup very serioursly as this might be the only thing we win for a long time now
I'm all for a pre season double 8)
Don't forget that our last cup was the Amsterdam tournament (sob sob)
But we don't state that sort of cup down unlike Tottenham, just take a look what they've put down & they include the Peace cup as a major cup

You know its really nice having all these elderly gooners (well age wise lol) to discuss Arsenal with in here. They have seen so much more than me and really it makes me proud of our history.

O and i hope you guys have fun :).

We do seem to have quite the range of ages, nationalities etc on this forum.

Very good to see so many people supporting Arsenal.
