MANU PETIT

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

MANU PETIT

Post by REB »

has a book coming out, could be a good read as i cant see him sitting back like most footballers do in there autobiography,

Thierry Henry might be thinking it, but Emmanuel Petit has come out and said it - baling out of Arsenal to join Barcelona iwas the biggest mistake he ever made. This will come as excellent news of the serves-you-right variety to all those Gunners’ fans who remember the eagerness with which Petit scarpered in 2000, although it may bring a degree of gallic bafflement to the face of Patrick Vieira, whom Petit openly encouraged to join him in Spain at the time by testifying as to Barcelona’s all-round wonderfulness.

Alas, according to Petit’s new book, the Catalans treated him like just another chump, even though they weren’t apparently as clever with the cash as they traditionally like to think they are. “I was making 150,000 euros a month. So I asked Gaspart (Barcelona vice-president) for twice that. He wavered but agreed eventually.â€

Every day something comes along to remind us that we have the looming prospect of Eboue backing up a lightweight Denilson in Central Midfield.

Someone's having a laugh with us :banghead: :banghead:

Pedant alert. Pedant alert.

You've given him an extra e which makes his name feminine. it's Petit

Good read Rebel, but I don't know whether it's fair to say that he scarpered off with eagerness, cos the way I remember it is that, after numerous kickings with little or no protection from the ref, yet every time he stepped out of line he was hammered, along with fitness problems demoralised him to such an extent that it was perfectly obvious he was no longer the same player and when Barca came knockin lookin for Overmars AW, knowin that they would probably do anything to get their man basically told them that they could only have him if they took Manu as well 8)

"so ladies, who's it to be, me or marty...... calm down ladies there's enough of me to go around"

"Do us a favor mart, nip round the corner and get me some garlic bread, i dont think your going to be needed after all"

I'm sure it's not going to be the most intellectual read but should give an interesting insight!

Anyone know when it goes on sale?

The book has been out for a while in France, but only in French. If anyone can find it for sale in English please let me know.
