Did you lot realise that they were playing this at the intervals of each game. It was quite a good song which would be amazing for 60,000 gooners to be singing. Then I heard that this was Arsenal's way of coming up with the 'new anthem'

Do you think the song will ever be 'The Arsenal anthem'?

I TOO NOTICED IT BEING PLAYED BEFORE THE GAME ON BOTH DAYS, AND THOUGHT TO MYSELF THAT I BET THAT IS THE SONG PREFERRED BY THE CLUB. PERSONALLY, I THINK IT'S AS BAD - IF NOT WORSE - THAN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM! AND THAT'S REALLY SAYING SOMETHING!!

well i noticed i also noticed the played smile, with is the tune to ashley cole is a chelsea batty boy, i bet they were tempted to play that 1, i would of. lol.

what about breakin the law? a more appropriate song for the scousers perhaps but they have their own anthem.

i watched a clip on youtube...(not the one above) it had this music, with a compilation of henry's goals, it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up....

obviously some of the lyrics dont match...but i can say that for a load of other club anthems...

and to be blunt, nobody does it better than the arsenal

Don't these Idiots behind the scenes at AFC realise that you can't simply decide on an anthem by playing it at half time and reckoning us punters will embrace it lovingly.

True club anthems, ie, Liverpools, Man City etc, are born SPONTANEOUSLY BY THE SUPPORTERS.
Not voted for in boardrooms, or on fan forums for that matter.

So what if we don't have an anthem at the moment.
We will soon enough, when the time is right.
It will just happen.

That is if were not told to SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.....

Part of me is hacked off if this is to be the "chosen one", as its not the one selected by the fans. But part of me also says its much better than Impossible Dream, so why not! Another that I've heard recently which fits the bill, but I don't think came up during the election was Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World":

first of all i have to say that i haven't come up with an anthem so i accept it is probably wrong to be critical.

however, i think most good anthems are simple in structure. liverpool probably have the most emotive song and it is two or three lines at most. nice and simple and easy for people to follow. west ham (spit) have a slightly stupid anthem but again the main part of the song is about 6 lines.

one of the loudest arsenal songs has been for paddy and how simple a song was that.

why are we coming up with songs that have three or four verses? no-one will ever keep up with that.

as a suggestion - i always though La Marseillaise was a powerful tune - does anyone think we could use that?
