The possible new Arsenal anthem

just so you don't shoot me down as someone who doesn't try, how about this to La Marseillaise.

might need a bit of work but on the plus side, it isn't person specific so when they leave the song dies, we do have a strong french connection now and in a way it pays a bit of respect to AW. also it is nice and simple and the chorus could be really loud if everyone sang it. no swear words in it either so the club can't moan too much.

As the person who suggested "The Wonder of You" at the start of the search for an anthem i was delighted the club agreed with me and tried it out over the weekend.
If it will turn out to be the new anthem who knows.But there are so many people who are never happy.They dont like "Wonder" they dont like "Impossible Dream" even though that won the poll. No song will ever get 100% support for christ"s sake.But why be so negative?

I bet there were some miserable sods on the Kop in 1963 when the fans started singing You"ll Never Walk Along" saying why are they singing that song from a musical,i"m not going to sing it. Every anthem has to start somewhere.

MK i agree with you about What A Wonderful World it"s a great song But you will get the miserable gits moaning about it as well.You just can"t please some people.

Sometimes i feel as though the fans who want an anthem are wasting our time.

NO NO NO NO NO NO Wonder of you is so dull its not uplifting its a ballad if i wanted to serende someone I wouldnt go to football!!
I want to shout and let out all my tensions giving my team. the one I work for all week to go and see, my upmost support and singing Elvis aint going to do that!

It should be continued and for each game, they should put print outs displaying the lyrics so everyone could sing it. Worth a go!

why do we need a athem anyway we have done very well without one for over a 100 years. do we need to sell out to a Gimmick?

Am I the only one who frankly couldnt give a toss about this anthem bollocks?

The fact we are scratching around trying to find reasons to pin a bloody Elvis sing to ourselves shows how fabricated and false the whole thing is!

Try this as an anthem for Arsenal!

The match your watching! The manager and players you adore! The whole match day experience whatever you may do! The history and the memories!

If we are going to have a song aat least let it be a rousing uplifting one!

I aint religous at all but I d prefer to blet out Jerusalem than all this other shite suggested!

The Wonder Of You wouldn't have been my choice, but yesterday plenty of people were singing along to it, especially the chorus (which is of course all they sing at West Ham) - the Scousers do sing teh whole song (but only on big games - they don't all sing along all the time, believe it or not, no matter what Sky would have us think.

The only complaint I have is the timing for the "new anthem". It should be played as the players are entering and waiting in the Tunnel (as at Anfield) so that the players can hear it being sung.

For some reason Paul Burrell (the World's most clueless PA announcer) insists on playing some rubbish rave track (I think Fatboy Slim) while the players are waiting.
