We Hate Setanta!

Post by rtpgooner »

There seems to be a lot of hate for setanta on here tonight and i agree. I am one of the mugs who pays £13 a month for it. So i thought i would upload this. .While watching the analysis after the game, the setanta camera zooms in to the england crowd and they are singing "we hate setanta!"!! Have a look at this, Quality!

I hate setanta, they have really ruined what was a brilliant sky package.
How did a new channel come up with 400 million anyway ???
I would like to delve into the records of this deal and you would find something fishy.

I don't blame Setanta that much, they paid the money and won the bid. I put most of the blame on the FA who should have made it ironclad in the contract that highlights on terrestrial TV would be part of any deal.

On the news today it said the FA dont have control over away games and who buys them. Now if you believe that you will believe that gullable has been taken out the dictionary

It's up to the individual FA's to sell the rights to their home matches so you can't blame our FA (even though they are useless crunts most of the time) for this, nor the Croatian FA for getting the best deal.

Setanta are a business and having paid so much for the coverage rights, were trying to recoup some of it and were just protecting their interests.

Having said that, Setanta and the domestic television stations should have been able to come to some sort of agreement. :banghead: Bet ITV and BBC are kicking themselves now!!

I get Setanta included in my Virgin TV package and seeing as they seem to show a fair few Arsenal matches I sure as hell aint gonna complain. I agree it is a shame that the BBC do not have the rights to the Internationals but they had the chance to bid. Did anyone notice that Setanta unscrambled the channel this evening to allow non subscribers to view the highlights show, I am not sure SKY would have been so generous.

I have Setanta via BT Vision. There is only one channel and the picture quality is so poor that they've stopped charging for it....! But it was great to at last be able to invite a mate round to watch it on our tele, knowing that he couldn't see it on sky..... !!! Probably never happen again, so I had to make the most of it!

I thought Sentanta would be a good thing as it would break Sky's monopoly and force a bit of competition. Hasn't worked out that way though.

The BBC had every right to bid for this and should have but they are fucked seriously for money.....I know as I used to work for them.

I pay £6.50 a month for Sentanta for the next 6 months as I left them at the end of last season when there was no more football. Within a few weeks they was calling me offering deals so that is something else maybe others can try. They have invested so heavily that they cannot afford to lose customers even at a reduced rate. As soon as thry want more I will disconnect again.

My main gripe is their shitty commentators. Waddle was talking all kinds of shite last night which the three guys in the studio completely contradicted and the less said about Craig Burley the better!

Phone Setenta and tell them you want to cancel - they will offer to reduce your monthly payments to try and keep you.
agree there....i got one month free and the rest is 7.50 but they still seem unable to process a direct debit on the correct date!!!! how is the 11th the 1st....must be the 1's that confuse them
