if cesc and gilberto play central midfield , how can we utilize Hleb and Rosicky who are both infinately better down the centre as compared to on the wings .
Do you guys think we might play with 5 midfielders and only 1 striker next season ?
ive always liked the 4-5-1 formation when weve used it, i think it gives us a very attacking approach with a lot of options going forward and it certainly seemed to work in the CL 05-06.
i dont think it worked so well with adebayor when we tried it last season but i think it could work quite well will RVP as the front man
I am against playing 1 up front as I think it would leave van persie isolated at times and worryingly it could then lead to frustration and yellow cards. "The Van Man" needs someone up front with him to take some of the attention away from him otherwise he will be allowed no space at all. I agree that tommy rosicky's best position would probably be either centre midfield or playing off the front man but I still think we are a team that needs 2 up front especially as we dont get enough goals from midfield. Much as we would all like to see bedtner succeed I cannot see it happen as he does not fit into our style of play and his style (plan B if you like) is so radical to plan A that you have to ask if it would suit the majority of this team and I dont think it would.
I agree with Augie that RVP is not your man to play up top alone and I also agree its not the system I favour! I dont think we have the type of striker needed to do the job needed on the books either!
I do however have high hopes for Nick! I was encouraged with what I saw over the weekend and I saw him a few times last year on the box playing for Brum. Im happy he presents a different option for us as I have screamed for us to be more direct at times instead of passing ourselves to death!
We are still desperately lightweight upfront I feel and we do need another striker! To my mind we only have three out and out centre forwards and that is not enough!

IN MY OPINION, HAVING WATCHED HIM A BIT OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS FOR BOTH THE RESERVES AND BIRMINGHAM, BENDTNER HAS GOT A VERY GOOD TOUCH AND CAN FIT IN TO EITHER PLAN!!
AUGIE, LET US AT LEAST GIVE THE KID A CHANCE BEFORE WE START TO WRITE HIM OFF!!
Gallas was slow to react to the cross that led to their goal, but Wenger that he was playing with an achilles injury after getting kicked on it earlier!
