No. Panto was banned for jeering and sneering at a forum member's personal loss of a loved one. Nothing to do with offending someone with regard to a broad public issue.BT wrote:At the end of the day, if people are offended, then they're offended. Its not political correctness or censorship - which is a wider issue - its an emotional and personal reaction, often with good reason. After all, wasn't that why Pancho was banned from here? Everyone knows that this is an easy going forum and Quartz and Basil are easy going members. But somethings obviously hit a nerve and we should respect that.RaM wrote:I hate political correctness.
It grows more and more stifling with each passing day.
I didnt mean to draw an exact parallel but what i meant was someone was rightly offended by Pancho, even though it was for personal reasons, which is what has happened here. Quartz and Basil weren't trying to make it a bigger issue, just saying they personally didnt find it funny. Its everyone else who jumped on the censorship issue and made it a wider issue. All I'm saying is, if one person is upset then its one person too many.
Anyway, agreed, lets live and let live.

Gus I actually agreed with you and was actually very taken aback by the criticism of what I had posted. It was posted with no malice in mind and I had not set out to offend anyone. I was very suprised that people felt so strongly that they had to condemn as opposed to simply ignoring the post. Part of me wanted to say fuck it I am not deleting the pictures but I quite like Quartz and respect the majority of his posts, thats why I chose to delete them.gus ceasar is a legend wrote:Can we just forget it now?
Maybe I overreacted to whatI perceived as an overreaction!
