Arsenal's Number 1

Post by stats »

So who is it in your eyes
Nutty Jens
Blondie
or the new kid on the block

For me when he's at his best it's def Jens for me
But i think Alummia will get more games & he proved to become the better keeper last season
Alummia for example played in the 3 brillant wins over Liverpool
Lehmann let in 4 & it led to our heavest defeat in a few years
Lehmann wasn't the same last season
Far toom many goals were let in & cost us a hell load of points, the vistors at the Emirates useually scored first & this was the case for the first few games
We lost only once there so far to our new bogie team West Ham
We look to have 3 good keepers to play & sadly Poom never got to play at all, though he must be the only Arsenal goalkeeper in history to have not let in a goal both times he played for the first team
Not only did we get rid of Henry but we got rid of the
BEST KEEPER IN THE WORLD 8)

But looking at the Emirates cup i thought Manuel Blondie played very well in the PSG game & made some good saves
Fabianski at Barnet looked good for his first game & is something for the future for Arsenal maybe, playing as captain in the 2nd half which he done very well with i must say as for Jens didn't do as well as i hoped in the Inter Milan game & it seemed at first for me that we might win the game with just one goal, but we went one down like most of the games last season at home & worried me that we could only score 1 goal which wouldn't be enough for the cup & that in the end wasn't to worry wih Van Persie (future golden boot winner 07/08) got a brillant winner
It was like last season against Man Utd at home & i hope to worry as much bout results this season
Was this a case for the man in the goal net?
The team?

its hard to say. jens is mental. i love that about him but he certainly wasnt himself last year.

almunia reckons he's gonna be a future england number 1 once his 5 year citizenship period thing is up so maybe it would be good to have him as our number 1 too? although i have to say saturday was very un almunia like in my experience however towards the end his concentration started to lapse again and his distribution level dropped too so a return to normal for him?

wookash has a strong polish following. maybe bringing him in to the side will help us to cash in on all the immigrants now in london and with plenty of dole money to spend on tickets?

I reckon the blonde hair is Manuel pretending hes Oliver Kahn to wind Jens up!

I am actually filled with dread by both and after watching Fabianski play last week he seems a mentalist too!

So Stats, are you turning into the king of the pointless polls (I thought he retired)? Only joking...I worry about our kids sometimes! Lehmann is the man.

Lehman Number 1 for me with fabianski as back up. People knock Jens but most of the time I like the fact that he is mental especially in a team that has too many wilting flowers as it is. I have never been convinced about almunia although given the quality of english keepers at the mo I can certainly see why he could see himself as their number 1. I have to say Stuart Taylor is another then filled me with fear but if you are talking about young ex keepers then I always felt manninger was a good keeper that got a raw deal with us

I think Jens will be our our No. 1 next season, I find his mental nature hilarious, especially when he stirs up arguments at set pieces.

Classic was when he feigned injury at the end of the Manure win last year. The time he ran all the way to the crowd to get the ball only to thow it at the advertisements so it bounced bak and he had to get it again was classic too! Who was that against?

I want to see Fabianski play some games too, but Almunia deserves some of course.

1. Jens
2. Alternately Fabianski/Almunia

Ha ha ...that was actually the Wigan game he did that. He couldn't even resist causing an argument last weekend by pushing an Inter player who stood in his way

Wenger has bought Almunia and as always when Wenger's bought a player he can stay as long as he wants to. I think I'm more likely to win the world cup 2010 then seeing Wenger admit he's made a mistake, ever, but Almunia simply isn't good enough. Ok, he can pull off some edecent saves everynow and again but I judge keepers on how reliable they are....so Almunia is a nightmare to have in goal in my book.
