Paul Gascoigne - In Hospital Again
If newspaper reports are to be believed, Gazza is in hospital again after a drink and drugs binge.
Really feel like he has headed a long way down the path George Best was on.
Has anyone here met him?
Mate of mine him once about three years ago and said he was a really nice bloke, not anti Arsenal in anyway depsite having played for Spurs, but absolutely off his face.

Never liked Paul Gascoigne at first, but events over my life and that of people I have known is that he is on a destructive path and if he is to save himself he needs strength of character (stating the obvious, I know).
I hope he can be saved somehow. It would be a shame to see yet another life (famous or non famous) taken by the evil disease of addiction.

When he was playing for Spuds,i was driving down Abbey road and who hailed me?
You guessed it,,GAZZA.
Him and Mitchell Thomas had just come from Linekers house
and he wanted to go to covent garden.
He had one of those "laughing Bag" things.
But the one he had kept saying "FUCK YOU"....and he kept phoning peeps playing it to them over his mobile.
Gazza asked me to stop outside this Brook street Bureu next to Holborn station where he rang a girl up who worked inside.
The girl came out for a quick chat to Gazza and he asked her to come for a few drinks in covent garden.
She said she couldnt because of work.
But as i looked above the Brook street Burue, everyone was hanging outta the windows for a glimpse of him.
ANYWAY...on we go to covent garden and he pays me with a good tip.
I personally think he surrounds himself with the wrong people who OBVIOUSLY play on his genorosity, and its a shame how hes seems to be going downhill.
BUT....we ALL have choices in life and he alone must find the way out of the madness he finds himself in.
I HOPE HE DOES btw

Agree Rebel,it's his own fault. He's had plenty of chances, just like George Best did,and he had a new kidney or liver and abused it at the expense of someone else. Disgrace.REBEL GOONER wrote:dont give a shite about him,

plenty of other people with problems that we dont hear about but we get this prick in the papers every other day
I thought the FA were meant to be helping Gazza

That's a bit harsh Rebel. He - Gaza - is clearly a fool unto himself but by all accounts people who have met him, sober, say he's a decent enough guy.
Problem was he could only ever do one thing - play football.
When that ceased, life just overwhelmed him. I think his biggest mistake was leaving Newcastle. If he's have stayed there and not been lured away he would have been an environment that he loved and could handle.
I hope he doesn't kill himself but I think he will.

I have lost quite a few friends and family to the drink, I am so fucking glad that their plight and demise wasn't front page news, it wouldn't have helped them, in fact it would have only made their problems worse and sure as hell would have been unfair on us their family.Cus Geezer wrote:It's not Gazza's fault that plenty of other alcoholics are not newsworthyREBEL GOONER wrote:dont give a shite about him,

Rebel, you are entitled to your opinion and I honestly hope that it is formed on a complete lack of first hand knowledge.
