I'm going to Sunderland....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'll be there :barscarf: !! First away league game for a while. Last away game in any comp was in the San Siro v Milan in March..... Last time I was in Sunderland was at the old Roker Park for a 2-2 draw in the 1980's. We went up on the train and drank ourselves silly in Newcastle. Caught bus to Sunderland and continued drinking in one of the many working mens clubs....and then spent most of the game chatting to my good friend Armitage Shanks  !!

I'm in the North East that weekend for the Great North Run on the Sunday - so just lucky to be able to take in Arsenal as well. I've bought 4 tickets, but only 2 takers so far from my group of fellow "runners". Looking increasingly like I might be lumberered with 2 spares so £70 down the drain! Hey ho, at least I got the away match credits!

A sign of the times I suppose, but I notice that gooners can now pay on the gate for Blackburn away (albeit that they do give us half the ground... :) !) and that Sunderland has gone on sale to Red members and due to go on general sale tomorrow. I guess both of the these scenarios haven't happened for a season or two.....

Bit embarrassing that the game is now on general sale.... Still 3,100 tickets is a lot to take that far up north. And I'm sure it will still sell out in the next day or so.

I'm pleased to say that Theo's performance last night means I've sold my 2 spare tickets so now have a full car going up and, more importantly, am not £70 out of pocket!!!!
