Greedy on the ball=goals?

Greedy on the ball=goals?

Post by stats »

Well as above if strikers turned greedy at Arsenal (Van Persie) would that mean more goals go into the back of the net???
Sometimes in football you need to be greedy & the Arsenal isn't a very greedy team nmow as we play football with each player gets into the game either scoreing or setting up goals
Players like Marc Overmars was greedy in order to score goals but they create so difference to the team & the history for the club
Overmars for me is a legend & i miss his road runner speed every week at the Arsenal
Arsenal last season didn't put the ball in the net enough for us fans to give us some needed extra points
I think Arsenal will do better this season & pip Liverpool & even Chelsea in the league
I enjoy watching the football Arsenal play & that is one of the many reasons why i am a fan/season ticket holder
I want to get my moneys worth every week & we all know that we might not get our own way at every home match
Last season we scored near bottom with moneys worth of goals scored at home games, we drawed alot last season as we know & with it useually being 1-1
I hope like everyone else that we win the games we need to
We did very well against the big teams (expect for Liverpool away in the prem :( , the one time i go there  )
With teams like Sheffield United not taken serioursly enough we lost the match which at that point in the new year was a laughing stock
But we showed the fans that we can play football in a fine January which saw some great matches such as Manchester United & Tottenham
We need goals Arsenal but should Wenger ditch everyone playing as a team for some extra goals & points?

i don't think the players should be more greedy because i doesn't mean they will score more. i would like players like Helb and Rosicky to shoot from long distance but only if they feel thats the best time to not just because everyone shouts SHOOOT.

i agree with aa1886

i think we create enough opportunities witheout being greedy as it is, the reason we dont score more goals is because we are not taking these chances (which are often sitters that need nothing more than tapping across the line)

i would also like to see our tomas shooting and hopefully scoring from distance like he did in the world cup although im not really sure what hleb shooting is like from distance

Watching the games during the weekend, Eboue could easily have been described as greedy, but in my opinion if that is classed as greedy then its a good kind of greedy ... he was able to achieve penetration so quickly ...

And my agony in the last two seasons was watching as we overplayed and over-laborated near goal with no one taking responsibility and trying to score ....

So, its more a question of taking responsibility rather than one of selfishness ... we need our players to be big hearted and hungry and take responsibilities to score goals ... Selfishness is when your team mate is in a better position to score, and you ignore him and try to go it alone .. this can adversely affect team spirits is it happens all the time, but if it happens now and again, dont see what the fuss is about as long as we end up with more goals ...
