away games, sit or stand?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've only been to Fulham away this season but looking at Blackburn away and Bolton away our support seems to be sitting down a lot from the telly (at least in the first few rows anyway)....for gods sake take a stand!....you've sat in a coach/train/car for 3 hours...Stewards cant do anything if the whole stand refuses to sit down.

There is no standing culture at any sporting fixtures here. Maybe because we're all such lazy bastards. :?:

Everyone sits down all game until something of interest happens, at which point one person will stand up (for no real reason whatsoever) and then everyone else stands up to see past the original stander. When the moment of extreme interest is over, everyone's arses get back on the seats again.

standing

Stand up for sure, at fulham everyone stood up. At blackburn for the first time at an away game, i was row 15 as soon as it kicked off the 14 rows in front of me sat down. I carried on standing up with people in the row, then a bloke and a woman were shouting sit down and tapping me on the shoulder, i told em to f**k off, :banghead: Like people say you have sat down for 4 hours so you want to stand up. they complained to a steward and i got told if we dont sit we will be thrown out :banghead: . At bolton yesterday i was in the upper tier in the top right hand corner and stood all game, :D although most of the uppier tier and lower tier from what i saw sat down. Last season it wasnt like this every away game it was all standing and it defintely improves the atmoshpere. I think it may have something to do with the fact all away games i think this season have gone on sale to red members/general sale.

Excatly Ram, why stand just for that moment  if a steward asks me to sit down, i'll point out to him and say, i'll sit if they sit

our support is a joke. showing pictures on tv yesterday, our fans looked like the geekiest mugs i hav ever seen. however, i wouldn't be too down, bolton and blackburn are hardly the biggest of games. im sure after sunderland everyone will be standing at west ham and stoke. :barscarf:

i try to stand as much as i can through the game, but if everyone around you is sat down you i feel like a muppet being the only one standing and obstructing peoples views.
there should be a standing section and a seating area would make things alot easier

Haven't been to an away game for 3 seasons :( due to work commitments and lack of cash.

But standing for me as I'm sure all who know me would expect me to say. Also would be great to have standing areas at every ground.
