Gael Clichy should be fit to return to the Arsenal side for the visit of Hull City on Saturday.

The French full back went to hospital last weekend during the second half of the 3-1 win at Bolton. It followed a heavy challenge by Kevin Davies just before the break.

Fortunately tests revealed only bruising to his shin. He has missed training all week but returned on Thursday. Straight afterwards, Arsène Wenger spoke to Arsenal TV Online.

“I am really pleased that Gael is available,â€

[quote]“However Mikael Silvestre is available and we did not have any injuries from last week [against Bolton]. The likes of Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott have recovered fully so everyone is available.â€

Rejoice!

Silvestre is fit and only five weeks later than the original prognosis!

I'm more concerned at the possibility of silvestre jumping ahead of players like djouru and even gibbs in the pecking order despite not having played a full 90 minutes since the introduction of colour tv   :banghead:

It would be a kick in the teeth for Djourou if Silvestre jumped ahead of him.

It would be, but I fully expect that to happen.

I doubt very much that Silvestre would have signed for Arsenal - ahead of Citeh - if he was to be behind Gallas, Toure AND Djourou in the pecking order.

No, I expect Silvestre to be the man to play in the big games, if Clichy, Gallas or Toure are unavailable.

Might be an idea to put one of Silvestre/Gallas/Gibbs in for Clichy to give the fullback a bit more of a rest, also think Clichy had a torrid last three games. Probably won't be Gibbs as Arsene didn't trust him to handle Bolton. If not one of the cb's on the left then replace Toure with Silvestere if fitness isn't an issue and Nasri on the left with Walcott or Eboue depending on CL game and fitness on the right. The striker selection should be intresting while my cm pairing would be Denilson and Song, give Cesc a rest and Denilson should be able to handle this. So:

Almunia
Sagna-Silvestre-Gallas-Gibbs
Walcott-Song-Denilson-Nasri
Nic-Vela

Subs: Fabs, Toure, Ramsey, Eboue, Wilshire, Ade, Van Persie

Hull's defensive record is poor and while we can't exploit their inability to defend set pieces, we should score one or two in this. Problem is, Hull have started well, 7th in the league and got results against decent teams like Fulham, Blackburn and Everton. Eight goals so far, they will probably look to exploit set pieces as they did against Everton and look to test our defence in the air.

Interesting team, can't see it happening myself though.

I think this will will be the team to start

Almunia
Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy
Walcott-Fabregas-Denilson-Eboue
Van Persie- Adebayor

The pressure will be on for places after the kids put in that performance, let's see how they respond.

If we're 3 goals up expect to see the youngsters on anyway. I hate games like this but scoring early goals takes anyway all anixety, hopefully the lads get stuck into from the off and don't underestimate the opposition.

I know I am in a minority here but from the tiny amount of work to do tuesday night fabinski impressed me - by that I mean that in the first 10 minutes of the game when they were coming at us our young keeper came out and claimed 2 good crosses cleanly 8) I have said before that imo because we are so bad in the air in defence we need a keeper to come and dominate his area like that so I would put fab in the team
