As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
The failings of Gallas and Almunia are trumpeted on here daily but nobody seems to have a pop at Toure?
Frankly the guy has regressed so far that he is becoming a liability in my eyes.
Yes, Willy has made mistakes and Blondie's shortcomings are well documented but can nobody else see that Kolo is the weakest link in our back four? The guy is all heart but has lost the quality he had a few years ago. He defends on instinct rather than knowledge and unless he has a strong leader next to him he appears to be a little boy lost. Sure you can maybe blame Gallas for not giving him the direction he needs but Willy is a good defender in his own right and does the job ok. He should not have to give constant direction to a centre half who has been a regular in the Premier League for a god few years now!
Drop Kolo, bring in Silvestre for his experience. No not Djourou as we need someone who knows the art of defending inside out. Drop Manuel and go with Fabianski. Blondie doesa not command his area and is a soft touch. Give Fab's a run and if he can't hack it either than we need to buy!
Agree totally. Problem is Toure is a croed favourite and is living off his 2004 reputation.
He has been absolute shit this season. Sometimes he's like a headless chicken in the box and his "ability" to fucking run off his man and lose the attacker at set pieces is astounding and frightening...

I see why not, i hope that Silverstre is a good signing and look foward to him playing sooner rather than later.
Blondie isn't my first choice for a keeper and it's a shame that he's bloody number 1 now if only Jens or Poom was still about for back up
Kolo has lost it big time and he should of taken his chance he had in the game alot more differently putting it wide, the geezer should of blasted it through to the back of the goalnet
Willy i must say i've seen a better side to him in recent weeks and yesterday he was trying for us but sadly he hit the crossbar, the way Arsenal is at the moment Gallas will finish as top goalscorer
Toure was at his best when he had Sol next to him.I dont think he has been the same since Sol left.
The reason the fans dont have a go at hin which i think he deserves is they love his passion. So everyime we concede a Goal from a set peice it is the fault of Gallas and not both CH"s
To me Toure has gone backwards over the last 18 months, but as per usual our manager refuses to make the nescessary changes.Remember Ferguson bombing Stam out
I have too many bad memories of the Spuds carling cup thrashing to put my faith in Fabianski right now. Saying that, I don't agree with Almunia as number 1. For all his faults, Jens would at least inject some confidence in the defence, keeping them on their toes for the whole match.
I agree with you all on the Toure issue, simply not good enough at the moment and should rightly be dropped. Silvestre and Gallas could be an interesting pairing, 2 players with experience in what it takes to be league champions. Let's hope the partnership is given chance to prove it's worth.
yeah i think its time for a change leave the two experienced defenders on the pitch Kolo needs some time out or something. Gallas was blamed for the goal yesterday with myself included but after looking over it again its clear to see that kolo lets his man run on leaving Gallas no choice but to follow
This is a perfect opportunity for Wenger to galvanise the team. Drop some players. It'll give them the kick up the arse that they need. Maybe they think the squad is too small for them to be dropped but if Wenger shows them otherwise, even if its just for one match, then I'm sure they will play much better when they are brought back into the fold. Because then they will be playing for their own reputation - a powerful motivator.
And how often does it happen that enforced change forces a team to play better? A sacked coach is the most obvious, but even after players are dropped many sides come out firing the next week.
well i feel its clear if not both dropped kolo has to be!
gallas is the easy target cos we remember last season's bottle job but of the 2 CB's he has been a lot better then kolo, it pains me to say it cos like many i love his passion but its not enough time for a change!!
