Hull!! AFC worst home defeat under Wenger. worst in 15 years

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hull!! AFC worst home defeat under Wenger. worst in 15 years

Post by Mr FINSBURY PARK GOONER »

We dont lose much at home!!!

Under Wenger some home defeats has hit us, but none as bad as this.

Leeds, Boro, Blackburn, Newcastle, charlton,

But i cant remember anything like this since we were knocked out the FA Cup by Millwall and bolton in the mid 90s.

I hardly slept a wink last nite. If someone told me that Hull FC of the championship would of come to the emirates and beat us, after we went a goal up 15 months ago, i would of laughed my head of.

Heres a team that was playing kidderminster in league 2 five years ago

They were not even that good. but they were 100% commited.

anything can happen in Football, that why we all love the game, but its always heartbreaking when your team gives it up with out the oppersition having to do much.

I felt hull followed the golden rules of football which(wenger )always ignores; a great keeper, tall good centrehalves, a creative, shooting , midfielder and a hard working striker

stand down: almunia, gallas, toure, denilson, gredybayor

you dont need to be great just fill the posts properly!!

My most embarrassing/enraging results;

Wrexham 2 Arsenal 1 (1991/1992)
Man Utd 6 Arsenal 1 (2000/01)
Arsenal 2 Charlton 4 (2001/02)
Arsenal 2 Luton 3 (1987/1988)

Yesterday was a new low though.

I agree with you, all shocking but only the Charlton game was at home...and even on that day we showed way...i mean way more passion and desire even when they scored there 4th to get back into the game.....

Just got to chill a little people and get some perspective on this.
Yes bad day at the office but these days happen to any club at any time as no single club has the right to win the game. You EARN IT!!!
We have a young team that will make mistakes but we will learn from this. Last year we drew so many games and lost very few so to take a positive spin on this a loss here and there might give the boys a chance to re focus and stop thiking about all the sunshine being blown up their arse by the press!!
It would be easy to start looking for scapegoats at the mo ( 6 games in!!!!)
lets see how we react and grow.
Stay with the boys.

1st the press is biggin up our kids for midweek not our 1st team and 2nd surely they should have reacted and grown after losing to fulham!!
there is no way to dress this up and make it positive this is bad full stop!!

when we lose every match is the worst we've ever seen...doesn't matter if you lose by man u, scousers, millwall, hull or accrington...you lose and the story is over...hull city played BETTER and we've given them a real present...

Finsbury Park Gooner - what does that matter?

Wigan beat us in the Carling Cup in 2006, they were leading against us in the last match at Highbury. They were in League 2 and Canvey Island had outplayed and beaten them in the FA Cup a few years earlier.

As the great Kent Brockman once said ""Ladies and gentlemen, I've been to Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and I can say without doubt hyperbole is a million times worse than all of them put together."

The team had flu that day though, that's why we lost.

What bollocks.

How can losing to a newly promoted side in the Premiership even compare to losing to a side 91 places below you in the football hierarchy as Wrexham had been in 90/91?
