Crowd trouble at the Grove against Hull
Crowd trouble at the Grove against Hull
Not going to talk about the embarassing display on the pitch. We all know it was sh*t and not good enough.
Aside from the match, I am angry, really angry about the ticketing situation that saw 2 Hull muppets get seats in the middle of the North bank upper yesterday.
When Hull scored, they showed themselves and it kicked off. There were only 2 of them, but they were obviously up for it and determined to bring a bit of Championship support into the Premiership. Obviously a few gooners stepped in, gave them a slap and then the stewards got them out the ground. The stewards did a good job. The gooners who gave them a slap did a good job. HOWEVER...
WHY WERE THEY THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Ticketing and the HUGE increase in touts outside the ground is getting worse. Half the touts had Millwall tattoos yesterday and obviously couldn't give a f*ck who they sold to, or are maybe happy to encourage trouble in the ground.
Its a disgrace that neither the club or police are stopping this, resulting in law abiding home supporters getting into fights/trouble in the home support end as trouble makers from opposition fans take advantage of a ticket from a tout.
The person responsible for buying the original ticket (ie, the season ticket holder, or silver member or red member) should be banned. The touts need to be arrested and Arsenal season ticket holders in that area deserve an apology from the club.
If the club wants to charge premium rates for the tickets, they need to give a premium, safe, atmosphere to watch it in. With touts selling to anyone outside the ground the club cannot guarantee this.
Finally, what will happen if either Sp*rs or Manwho trouble makers decide to do the same thing this season?

good post robsy and for me this is the big point for me
i'd also like to add that we have a season ticket waiting list of something like 40,000 so they also deserve to deal with it for the people who have paid to sign on to it!!
we have some of the highest ticket prices in the prem so they owe it to us to sort this out!!If the club wants to charge premium rates for the tickets, they need to give a premium, safe, atmosphere to watch it in. With touts selling to anyone outside the ground the club cannot guarantee this.

There seem to be more and more touts every week as you leave Arsenal tube. It's professionally organised, these people aren't Arsenal fans and after the trouble yesterday it has to be sorted out.gas_face_gooner wrote:good post robsy and for me this is the big point for mewe have some of the highest ticket prices in the prem so they owe it to us to sort this out!!If the club wants to charge premium rates for the tickets, they need to give a premium, safe, atmosphere to watch it in. But the police couldn't care less.
My main anger is directed towards the touts who help this sort of thing.Tomo wrote:suprised any of our lot did anything about it. to be honest, i dont really have a problem with it, it is their choice and they know what can sometimes happen if they jump up. i go in the scum end at white hart lane but i obviously don't jump up when we score
The only other issue I have with it is that the gooners who did jump on them could face getting into trouble themselves. Obviously, they were provoked, but knowing what the club can be like, you never know.

I thought the club were looking to sort that out with the swipe card ticket.Robsy wrote:gas_face_gooner wrote: There seem to be more and more touts every week as you leave Arsenal tube. As for the police - this is kinda ironic as on Wednesday I was held up on the way to the Grove and rushing to get into the ground muttering a swear word to myself as I heard 'the wonder of you' being played.
A copper pulled me over and accused me of calling him a 'fucking slag' even though I wasn't even remotely looking in the direction of the entirely unremarkable ugly fat mostachioed cretin.
I tried to assure him that I called him no such thing, even though he knew full well I called him no such thing and was acting reminiscent of one of those people in pubs who look to accuse you of looking at them in the wrong way when all along they're deliberately looking for a ruck.
He said are you calling me a liar, I looked him straight in the eye and said 'yes I am'. He then went on about telling me in my own language, I went 'what language is that then?' he goes 'swearing'. I said 'I've got a degree in Law I can very articulate'. He said 'so have I' and I said 'why are you just a copper then?'.
I thought to myself oh shit I've done it now I'm going to be marched off to a cell and won't see this game, but luckily he replied in his own language 'I'm a copper cos I like putting slag away'. If I could come up with a line as articulate as that I'd give up swearing tomorrow.
Another copper come over and he started going on about smelling cannabis on me, something I haven't smoked in over ten years and never did that much anyway, maybe pigs have got a incredibly highly developed sense of smell I don't know.
He made up about some other guy hearing him saying this to me to back up his story, I said 'where's he gone then?' he said 'he's gone off'. I said 'probably to meet his mate Santa and his bird the tooth fairy'. He then asked for my name, which I assertively gave him and spelled out and said 'go look it up I have no police record and no previous'. He then conceded defeat and let me go saying 'Mr Geezer (not my real name of course) away you go and enjoy the game, I just gave him a look as if to say 'you fucking twat' and walked off to my seat nearly 10 minutes late.
Amazing the police find time for this and not for ticket touts, maybe they think someone who spend £100 on a ticket must be respectable, whereas you spend a £10 through the correct channels and you must be a peasant and revert to their wankerish 1980s type.

They jumped up, celebrating.Magic Hat wrote:What exactly did the Hull fans do?
The club might clamp down with the argument that if the Hull city fans were being a problem, bring over the steward, don't react with violence.
Then goaded the home fans. Not in a friendly way, but a kinda of "f*cking come on then" way...
They were both big enough, old enough and up for it enough to know exactly what they were doing.
A few gooners stepped in, a few slaps, kicks etc.
The stewards got there eventually, did a good job. But to be honest, if the guys had gone for the stewards, they would have probably given them trouble (our stewards are more use to showing people to seats and asking people to sit down than dealing with trouble.) But fair play they did a good job.
None of the gooners who stepped in were trying to prevent the stewards doing there job. But they were protecting others and giving these two muppets what they deserved.
I agree with all you have said Robsy. I sit 1 block to the left of those muppets. Glad that some of our finest waded in, they were clearly goading our fans.Robsy wrote:They jumped up, celebrating.Magic Hat wrote:What exactly did the Hull fans do?
