best foul ever by an arsenal player

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Has gotta be Grimster's tackle on Davids at DB's testimonial, no ex-spud was gonna score in the first match at the Grove, friendly or not - the sort of stuff legend is made of :D

Willie Young on Paul Allen, 1980 Cup final. As a youngster I was so proud.

And Belfast Boy - your name just appeared in Green on the list of people who are viewing this site! What power you possess. Or does the site just sense these things and automatically changes to colour to reflect who is browsing.

I wondered why most of my posts came up in brown!

Willie Young on West Ham's Paul Allen(?) in the 1980 Cup Final. Professional foul as he was on way to goal. Big Willie just hacked him down. Got to be seen if anyone can find it on the net!

You have to admit, Paul Allen took it pretty well compared to these days!

Didn't have baths in those days Ben - the players went down to the pub after the game as filthy as they left the pitch. Would then go home where their wife would tip a bucket of dishwater over them (what we now call a shower).

Noticed that myself, but I don't why yet, and I refuse to speculate on why yours came up in brown on the grounds that I might incriminate myself  ............. that's called entrapment ya know :D

Love the Willy Young foul but i think Gilles in DB testimonial is best. Also used to love the way Steve Bould used to tackle from behind and go through the back of players.
