Title already out of reach (30/9)

usual thread starter… have we been weak at the back ever since 2005-06? Do you think Senderos would have worked out a better player if Gallas had not been bought?
Is the title already a forlorn hope?

We have needed a strong, commanding, header winning centre half for a few seasons now but i dont think Sendeross was ever going to be the answer there.
As for the title i think it is over already a championship winning team will lose a maximum of 5-6 games in a season having lost 2 already to what i would call weak teams it is out of our grasp, think of all the hard away games to come. To be fair i didnt think we had a chance of the championship at the start so its unfortunately no suprise

I'm getting so bored of reading these doom laden posts/articles from plastic Gooners: either get behind the team or piss off & support Chelski/Citeh
Victoria Concordia Crescit!

does it not look to you that people care about the club and are not liking the way things have been headed for the last couple of seasons, if you want to say something positive then you are more then welcome but when you come on here with a post like that then it just makes you look alike a dickhead

Exactly, these 'fuck off and support someone else' people haven't even got the brains to think before they write. Moan Utd have already played Liverpool and Chelsea. We've lost to Fulham and Hull and really struggled against West Brom, and haven't played a 'top' team yet.
The trouble with Arsenal is, when we are good we can stuff anyone, but when we are bad we are not likely to scrape a 1-0 win, we are likely to lose. The big test for us is when we lose the likes of Fabregas for a few games, then we may really struggle.

Well said Rebel Gooner.
Surely most people who bother to write on these pages must be passionate about Arsenal and 100% Gooners.
It certainly doesn't help, when trying to discuss our obvious weaknesses both in the team and in some of Wenger's decision making, to be told we must be "bonkers" or that we think "the world's going to end" or that we are somehow not proper supporters and we should "f%"k off etc etc".
Yes, we are still near the top of the table, but there are still glaring problems and shortcomings.
Eboue is one..... just for starters.

Agreed.Sammy Mooner wrote:
Senderos wasn't the answer but Djourou has looked as though he might be - at least he's tall enough to challenge for a header.
Title is still in reach but only if we sort out central midfield and central defence.
How?
Probably Djourou at the back, and Song next to Cesc.
If we get injuries and have to persist with Eboue and Denilson in starting line up then we can forget about the title this season.
I have been saying all over the summer and still stick to my limited opinion - Wenger is too cushy, comfortable and has too much power within the club. It was clear for all to see and by his own admission that we needed a defensive midfielder and a centre back plus others to provide cover. It was not done and now we see the friut that it has developed into - The players becoming too comfortable, cushy in games where it is more important to be mentally prepared than against top teams. What Toure said about being scared against Hull was nothing short of a disgrace - I was embarrassed.
I blame the manager for the lack of attitude, motivation and leadership - this spills down to the players and without a natural Captain in the side it cannot get sorted out on the pitch.
As for the title......I cannot see us not making regular slip ups again, what we have to do is beat the other top 3 or 4 at least once.
I suppose I will have to tell myself to fuck off and support Manure, Liverpool etc etc
