Sneijder

Post by RaM »

van Persie said on arsenal.com that he thought Wes Sneijder would be great at Arsenal as he seems like an Arsenal player.

Will Wenger take heed and get him some time in the future? (i.e not this transfer window)

I hope so.

So Sneijder is preferably a central attacking midfielder?

Damn...

I thought he was a winger....don't Ajax play him there?

In which case don't worry about him, Rosicky and Hleb will be great this season.

Always liked him and Van Der Vaart too . Fuck knows why he went to Hamburg! He's better than that.

i was under the impression that sneijder was a an attacking midfielder who could play preferrably on the left or right, but can play central too. I think the lads got bags of talent, just like that van der vaart, altho he is more central. Scored that great goal against us for the burgers last year too

in a way Sneijder is similar to what we have - an attacking midfielder who can play right across midfield but cuts inside a lot
having said that I'dlove to have him

when a young ajax side came and got a draw at highbury he was brilliant
Vieira saught him out after the game to asj if he was right or left footed and he said I don't know. he took FK's and corners with each foot that day. amazing vision and range of passing

I'd put him ahead of VDV who hasn't yet refound the consistency he had in ajax's awesome '02 double season

Sneijder must have been one of europes top scoring midfielders last season

Would be a good acquisition but would prefer a direct winger who will frighten defenders a la Drenthe/Quaresma.

Last time we beat Real Madrid to a signing was in 2000 when we signed Bobbie Pires.RVP wont be happy.First Babel now Sneijder only 2 weeks left of the transfer window.

Sneijder is a great player but u cant justify the £18mill that madrid are spending on him. wenger wouldnt buy a player for that much wen he already has many players at his disposal.

sad price for a just above average player,, arsene would probaly hav got 6 players for that,, dont think madrid care wat they pay as they get bailed out when in debt by there goverment

There was a lot of rumours about him joining the Spuds earlier on . Thank fuck that didnt happen as I do like Wesley . But £18 million er I dont think so. He is a good player and although RVP was quoted as saying he is an Arsenal type player I couldnt see where we would play him or who we would leave out .

The problem with dutch football is when they turn good the clubs from Italy, Spain, Germany etc all come in & they all give into them
Ajax is the biggest example with Bergkmap, Van Basten, Van Der Vart, Babel & now Sneijder
Ajax i have a soft spot for & always have as they are my Dutch team (not just because of Bergkamp etc 8) but there a team with a great hisotry & are overshadowed by the big boys & they never have the chance to win the CL
