RVP talking some sense

RVP talking some sense

Post by WalcottSignedMyShirt »

From sporting life websiste:

Arsenal forward Robin van Persie has described former team-mate Freddie Ljungberg's recent criticism of the Gunners as "a bit weak".

Ljungberg accused Arsenal of lacking ambition in the wake of his move to West Ham, citing the departure of Thierry Henry. And Dutchman van Persie admits his comments were not well received in the Emirates Stadium dressing room.

"If you play nine years at a club like Arsenal you can say some nice words," he told the News of the World.

"If you're coming up with excuses about Thierry's departure and about promises from the club it's a bit weak.

"I was disappointed and I know a few others were as well. He had a fantastic period, he was once the best player in England, so come on and say some nice things for this club, which is fantastic."

I was gutted Fred said what he did!

Cannot understand what he hoped to gain apart from diverting away from the fact he wouldnt have got a kick this season at Arsenal!

Silly boy Freddie!

Didnt he have something to say about Henry a few weeks back as well? Its good to see an Arsenal player not trying to be politcally correct. We could do with a bad boy in the team, given that he channels the energy towards performance and an occasional neccessary chin wag.

Nice rone RvP....

Think it might something personal between RvP & Freddie though. Think Cashley mention something in his book about RvP & Freddie having arguments Not that I've read the book myself

nice one to get one of the current gunners responding to freddies nonsence .... nevertheless, RvP's comments were still politically nice and toned down ...

he should have clearly stated that: 'freddie knew he would only get a few games this season as it would have been too tough for him to break into the team' .. period ...
