Crowd trouble at the Everton match, October 18th

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Eloquent

Ian mate, sorry you had such a poor experience yesterday. I wasn't stewarding in that section, but I heard there were some issues.

From what you've said, that's a really poor show from the stewards there, they certainly should have attempted to help you folks out.

I can only suggest that you write to the club to inform them of what happened. As well as (hopefully) getting some form of official apology, I would hope that the club would take it up with the supervisors in that section of the ground. That way the stewards there will come under more scrutiny and hopefully do a much better job if that ever happens again.

Once again mate, sorry that some knobs in club level ruined your day
Truth hurt?
Not at all, but if you go in with that attitude in the first place, maybe it partially explains why you don't get the best treatment from stewards?

I'm pretty sure that if I went to your place of work, convinced before I'd met you, that you and all your colleagues are 'wankers', I wouldn't get the best level of service.

Apologies for going off thread folks, just felt the need to defend myseld there! :barscarf:
A bloke who was with his son in the family enclosure against Hull is standing up in the 3 mins of injury time and gets a 3 game ban from Arsenal because of it, please feel free to argue why anybody wouldnt call stewards 'jobsworth wankers' after reading this, seems a little bit of power goes to your heads pretty quick.
fuck off..is that serious? that is the most pathetic thing ive heard..

Am I the only one who finds any attempt to excuse spitting or violence completely sick?

Ian from Everton expressed himself in moderate, reasonable terms. The fact that some Everton fans also behaved despicably during and after the match is no excuse for gobbing at them.

It's simple for me. I want ALL those guilty of violence, including spitting on people whilst safely enconced above the away fans (who are quite simply COWARDS) prosecuted.

It's quite possible to have a football ground completely ROCKING without this kind of nonsense. There's simply no excuse whatsoever for behaving like pondlife. Ever. Don't care whether you're blue or red.
