usual thread starter… I think gallas is a decent centre back alongside a Desailly or a John Terry. But put him with a similar type of player like Toure and the gaps in his game are exposed. Arsenal are supposed to need some experience to compete with other sides. Gallas has not provided it for a while now. I kind of hope that his injury turns mysterious (or diplomatic as I call it) and that he takes time to come back.
Does he have any defenders out there who think different and think his return would improve things?
Gallas injury could be a blessing in disguise (22/10)

What a rubbish article!
I agree that this anti William Gallas campaign is getting totally out of hand, and I think people are only coming out with this sort of rubbish because he is ex Chelski!
Where as I agree it was not the way to act as Captain, seems like the author is one of the few that will never forgive Gallas for that.
What makes me laugh is that people go on about Toure, who hardly gets any stick and since he came back from the ACN last year, he has been one of the most rubbish defenders in the Premiership. It was a real blessing for him to have gotten injured before halftime against Everton, because had he not gone off, we would not have seen Theo until Wenger made his trademark substitution at 70 mins and would prob have drawn or lost the game.

I totally agree with Gallas, that the team lack a winning mentality (at least he tells the truth as he sees it rather than spout all that bollocks and contradictions that have become an Arsene Wenger trademark over the last 3 years), you only have to see how that bollocks is trickling down to the players who after they win a match, think that one good performance makes them world beaters (yet get done by Fulham, Hull and scrape a draw against Sunderland) ie. RVP "We are playing football from another planet", Ade "We can beat anyone" and even comments attributed to Theo after the Fenerbache game

If he was uninterested, he wouldnt have blown up at Birmingham!!Gallas appears uninterested, sulky and a shadow of his former self. The tantrum at Saint Andrews last season is his most notable failure, but a series of constant and pathetic errors prove arguably more disturbing.

While I think some of the criticism is abit harsh, lets not forget it was Gallas' lack of concentration that cost us the goal at Fulham, second goal at Hull aswell as others which I can't put my finger on.
However aswell as blaming the players, I think our defensive coashes need to be addressed. Why do we not have a member of the old guard as a coach (provided any were interested)?
