Gallas... Oh Dear!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsène Wenger intends to speak to William Gallas after the Arsenal captain was pictured holding a cigarette in a national newspaper on Friday morning.

The 31-year-old was not smoking and the cigarette was not even lit however his manager feels the need to clear up the matter. From what he said at that day’s press conference, Wenger will have stern words for Gallas if he was lighting up.

“I didn't see the picture,â€

So what he smokes, big deal  I smoke and i bet 50% of proffesional footballers do. Remember Figo in the Emirates cup was smoking on the bench??

Look at the likes of Merse, Adams, Bould, Groves, I bet my life they had a few ciggys on the piss the night before a game, along with a few grams of Charlie. Did it effect them?? That's the problem with this country, everyone is too quick to criticise and judge, but a footballer having a ciggy, c'mon peeps  there is worse things out there. And i know he is a role model to young kids, but so are their parents who smoke 30-40 a day  and get drunk.

Wasn't it Socrates the Brazilian player (as opposed to the philosopher) who used to chain smoke? He was an awesome player!
