Stoke Away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Stoke Away

Any idea on pubs/drinking holes up there?

My tickets are in row 1, hopefully that means front row as you never do know. Anyone been before?

I have been yes,

expect a very hostile atmosphere and a very cold and windy ground as the corners are not filled in on either side of the away stand. Plus the Stand is not all that high so even if you are at the top the view is probably gonna be ok.

Parking is basically a night mare around the ground as there is very little. To find real parking you have to be prepared to walk at least a mile and as red action says campbell road is the best bet.

Pubs: well im not to sure about this apart from again there is nothing around the ground itself so again you will have to be prepared to walk. Stoke is a complete shite hole and there will be plenty of chavs about so just watch yourself!!

Heres a sneaky hint though if you are desperate for a beer and cant be arsed to walk then there is a gym called greens near to the away end they are normally open for a pint. Not sure is they allow away fans in...

Sorry to paint a dour picture of the place but its really not the best..

Train! Its bad news again really, the train station is about 2 Miles from the ground just off the A500. You will be fine getting a cab in to the ground but getting away the traffic will build up and It would never be able to get to you.

The best thing to do is to walk over the bridge that leads over the A500 and down past Campbell road and get a cab from nearer to Stoke town, It will be obvious where to go when you are there as there is only one way to walk really.

I am driving up myself and will park down at Campbell road but I will be there quite early as it gets full.

I know all this as I used to live in Stoke and have seen them a few times.
