alex song is just too slow

to be a top quality defensive midfielder for us or a top quality defender !

I didnt realise his lack of pace untill recently, it was highlighted in turkey wen he shud of seen red ..and did you see him try and chase jenas for the 3rd goal ...shocking

gotta go imo

I think he can be a good centre back, and a good defensive midfielder if played in the Makalele role in front of a defence in a five man midfield.

Not sure he is fast enough for a 4-4-2 in midfield.

maybe as a defender as you dont need pace if your clever enough like john terry

but as a defensive midfielder you need to have a bit of pace flamini werent quick but had so much energy he was constantly buzzing about which compensated and gilberto was a powerfull runner , song is neither

he might not be as fast as some of the others

he the only one tackiling though

again this is too harsh

its not like he a team regular

in and out like a prick

when he first started playing for us i was really critical of him, but now i think he's vastly improved and a good all round player. however i still think he should still only be a back up player for when our squad returns to full strength
