Wenger will never be sacked, he would have to resign. Personally I think he's losing the plot but deserves the remainder of the season to turn it around. He has to take full responsibility for having too many average players and a defence that is embarassing. The board keep saying the money is there so Wenger is no longer in a position to justify not spending it.

dont suppose anyone read Piers Morgans article in the Mail on Sunday about Wenger. Spot on if you ask me. Wenger needs to be told his job isnt for life and he isnt untouchable and that if he continues to drag the club down with his stubborness towards believing in players who arent good enough then he will be sacked and a suitable replacement will be brought in

Who would replace him? But agree he needs to add to the squad. I would love to see Diaara come back and play that holding role with cesc pushing foward.

If our title bid continues to falter.. if Wenger fails to strengthen in January.. if we fail to make a serious challenge in the Champions League (or get to the FA Cup Final)... and if - at the start of next summer - Wenger tells us (again!) that he's happy with his squad, and his main focus is on "keeping the squad together" rather than adding to it...

then, yes.. the tide should start turning again Wenger, and his position as manager, seriously looked at.

But surely surely surely, he will bring in players in January?? it would be criminal not to!
- our players need help!
- they need experienced players to guide them!
- they need a goalie they can rely on!
- they need a centre back to organise and dominate!
- they need a midfield enforcer to stand up and be counted, and help protect our brittle defence!!

We knew all this months and months ago.. so why hasn't anything been done???

I'm losing faith and belief in our manager, and that upsets me.. because I'm so greatful for everything he's done for our club.

I'm desperate for Wenger to make a success of things again.. but with each passing game, and each passing transfer window, I'm losing more and more belief.

Agreed

His time is up!

Would the wenger of five years ago lost the games he has this season? No!

Go before you tarnish the memories!

I'm concerned that Wenger is losing the ability to motivate his players to go out and play like their lives depended on it.
- and once the manager can't do that anymore, then maybe his time is coming to an end?

I remember reading Tony Adams' autobiography, and he talks of when the players stopped responding to George Graham, like they used to. That was when Graham's star started to fade.. and maybe that's happening to Wenger.

He should be given until the end of the season to turn things around. Sacking a manager mid season is for the likes of tottenham & newcastle, not us.

Exactly g88ner!

This is not one or two bad decisions but handfuls now!

He has lost the team and the support for him from the fans falls daily.

I suspect the man is however untouchable and whatever happens this season we will still have the pleasures of buying kids from Tongo, Swansea and SV Hamburg reserves next summer!

That is in part the crux of it. I honestly think he has lost the players. Put yourself in Cesc's shoes. He knows, like we do, the title has gone for another season. So it's the Cups or nothing.

If we get through to the CL Q/Fs - a BIG if - the chances of drawing an English club are big - and our chances of victory, small.

If you were Cesc wouldn't you be considering the option of Spain next year - and playing like that was on your mind ?

I'm not blaming Cesc in any way. But he wouldn't be human if he did not think that.

I think Wenger has lost the players. Is in the process of losing the fans - and has only the antiquated 'Dinos' like Hill-Wood and Friar backing him up. And they only do so because their sole concern is to hang onto their own wretched positions in the Board Room.

Is anyone apart from us - the Fans - looking out for the Club ?

What is the point of a post like that! Never go?

Have the Arsenal medical staff failed on treatment and diagnosis of players as they have been working on finding the secret to eternal life?

I've said it before, I think Wenger needs a new assistant. Whenever I see Pat Rice on the dug-out he is sitting back, legs & arms crossed looking like he's got the cushiest job ever. I can see him thinking to himself "I'm an Arsenal man through & through. They won't get rid of me. Where would I go anyway If I did leave!"

Old Red Nose Fergie has had Archie Knox, Brian Kidd, McClaren, Quireoz (twice), Walter Smith for a while and now Mike Phelan during his time all giving him various new ideas, disagreements, ecouragement.

The time has come for a new assistant to come in, shake it up a bit - stand on the touchline and give them the proverbial boot up the arse that is needed, to tell Wenger if he thinks he is wrong, someone hungry to take over the main job when finally Wenger does decide to call it a day (which will prob be in 2010), who will know the players and will already be intigrated in the club.

If it carries on like it is Wenger will leave, and we might be floating from one 'potentially top rated coach' to another, just like that lot up the road have been doing for the last 12 years.
