BRING BACK SENDEROS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

BRING BACK SENDEROS

Post by GIJ »

All he could do was header and we laughed at him for it, now I wish he was playing at the back instead of the other clowns. We're sorry Big Phil, come home...

Well I never laughed at him, as he was a good defender, but unfortunately error prone.

He does not seem quite cut out for the English game though, best to leave him in Milan where he can prosper form the slightly slower pace of the game there.

Senderos would not improve us!

Yes, ok.. he's decent in the air. But what else?? he's slow, poor positionally, turns like a barge, and made so many mistakes.. and even from set pieces, his marking wasn't always great as he would switch off (remember his marking of Hyypia in the CL last season?? )

So.. no, Senderos is not the answer, and would be no improvement on Gallas or Silvestre.

I don't know who would help?. I wanted Woodgate when Sp*rs signed him, and at £8m, he was in our price range!
- he's 6'2" and dominated Ade in the air last week. I was disappointed that we didn't sign him.. oh well.

One thing I will say in Wenger's defence... I don't think there are a great deal of world class and powerful centre backs around, are there?? :?
- Vidic, Alex, Vidic, Carragher ???

He was fine against mediocre teams. He would have been ideal for games against Hull,Stoke etc.. It was against world class strikers like Drogba and Torres where he really got found out.

Isn't this a bit of an oxymoron? Isn't it like saying he's a good striker but never scores??

Quartz how can you be a good defender if you are too slow for the game as well as being error prone?

Fuck me we get done over by a bunch of giants that make Drogba look average in size and we call for the return of Senderos!

Does nobody else remember how he phsically terrorised him?

Jesus even Hypia aged around 56 beat him for movement and in the air!

If we are getting this desperate get Cygan back first!

I would rather see my mother raped by Albanian goat herders than see Senderos back in an Arsenal shirt

He was good in the air, a good tackler, and brought the ball forward well.

He played well a lot of the time, but despite that made high profile errors.

Rather than a player whose basic level was poor.
